What does demar derozan have to do to become the best raptor

His contract seems spot on with his performance, but many around the league and most of our fan base think its a steal. We need to capitalize on DD while his value is high. We wont contend with him as first or second option. He belongs in third but that wont happen.

DeMar needs to become an actual SF. If Val develops a post game and Toronto becomes an inside out team, DeMar becomes Rudy Gay on Memphis. This means Ross needs to become a SG. DD can avg 20/5/5 as a second third option SF.

I don't think Derozan needs to be a #1 first option on a contending team to be the best this franchise has ever seen. Were we ever a contender with Bosh or even VC? Far from it. Neither of those guys found a way to consistently win for the Raptors.

To me, if Demar finds a way to lead his squad to the playoffs from now on, plays with the same statistical output for 3-5 years, than he'll be the best Raptor ever.

Exactly I don't even know why people are saying he's the best Raptor ever when it was really Lowry who carried this team this season. Actually if Lowry was traded I don't think we would've even made the playoffs.

there are plenty of times the offense sticks and players are shooting horrible and demar plays good. Lowry disappeared in game 6 when we could've used him big time.

I'm talking about the overall impact of Lowry throughout the season, he's carried a lot more weight in this team on having positive impact than Derozan, to say he's the best Raptors is nonsense if he's not even the best Raptor on the team right now.

His defense has improved, no stats to back this up generally, but being part of a top 10 defensive team in the league playing a bulk of the wing minutes is something.

.532 TS%, You mean you want him to shoot a high field goal percentage. A reasonable FG% is what he's had for many years.

Demar has to continue his gradual growth for 3-5 more years. Improve his shot selection & progress in his shot-creating & he'll be the best Raptor ever. Lowry can also be part of that discussion if he were to stay, however Demar will be here for a longer duration of time.

Lol at people saying lowry is the best player, yes he is to-date, but lowry IS in his PRIME, DD is NOT. Do you guys not see that? If DD was in his prime, the way he's playing now, i can for sure guaranteed he would be a better player than lowry, size, scoring, and his defence and passing will probably be better as well. :crazy:

I don't see his defense improved. He is still getting blown by. He is hide against less offensive players, but when he is guarding an offensive player, he is exposed. I don't see he can massively improve on his defense, at most average.
