The alignment of the 1-4 High Stack begins with two bigs on the elbow and the two wings on the free-throw line extended. A common action seen in the NBA out of this set is the "4 Up" where the ball-handler makes the pass to one of the wing players coming up and goes backdoor off of the backscreen from the big on his side of the floor for a quick hitter. Because Butler denies Salmons, the pass to the wing isn't available. Instead Salmons makes an Iverson/Rhody cut above the elbows where he then receives the pass. From here the offense flows into an elbow/pinch post pick&roll.

A double/staggered pick-&-roll action. As Vasquez gets Jackson on his back trailing and does a great job of controlling his man using his hips on the pick-&-roll this forces Ibaka to step up and prevent the drive by "levelling" which gives Jonas an open lane to dive to the rim. KD has to bump to stop Jonas from catching the ball on the roll momentarily leaving Amir wide open. Ibaka is late to recover back on his man and this triggers the hi-lo action.

Raptors tried running the popular Elevator Doors made popular by the Warriors in a late game situation here. Lowry doesn't use the elevator doors, but the Thunder do an excellent job of defending the action with Reggie Jackson signalling Ibaka to switch. Defenses will normally hug their man in late game situations, so Lowry does a good job of spacing the floor as well by taking Ibaka near half-court away from the rim not giving the Thunder any rim protection. With Lamb and Reggie jumping to the ball on the screen, Amir slips and gets an easy dunk.

From my YouTube Description: Raptors create beautiful ball movement almost as if it's poetry in motion on this action. An Iverson/Rhody cut by Salmons which flows into a side 24 pick&roll with Novak. Wizards do a good job containing the play as Beal gets on Salmons' top hip denying away from the screen while Gortat drops back. Salmons is forced to pass back to Vasquez which again flows into another pick&roll this time up top. Andre Miller trails the play as he "dies on the pick" forcing the screen defender to stay in front of Vasquez as he turns the corner and Gortat has to rotate from the opposite post to "bump" Hansbrough from catching and finishing. This gets the Wizards defense to get disorganize and a throwback pass by Vasquez to Salmons up top triggers a full rotation by the Wizards. Ball quickly reverse around the perimeter to DeMar in the corner where he has a mismatch against Gortant and blows by him for the layup. Raptors do a great job of imitating the Spurs on this play.

Re: The Toronto Raptors Offensive Playbook
Keep an eye on this play when you guys watch next season because it's a quick bucket the team usually runs in ATO, EOQ/EOH or a Need 2/3 situation. I've posted this play numerous times throughout this thread and it usually appears once or twice a game. Another team that often runs this play are the Pacers.

Re: The Toronto Raptors Offensive Playbook
For my latest film clips I've started to add a short description in the video of what's unfolding in each play. Click on the video to read the description. If any of you have footage/clips that you would like to share feel free to post, so we can all learn. Also, I have a few plays the Warriors ran. Mark Jackson (not enough credit given for his X's and O's) used to run an awesome offense with tons of variety mostly motion stuff, so if you guys want to check that out let me know and I'll post it, but I'm trying to keep this exclusively about the Raptors. Once the season starts, I'll make a video about the Raptors defense how they guard ball screens and other various actions. Enjoy!
(I'm assuming most of you guys understand how Horns actions works from all the breakdown videos that populate YouTube, so I didn't write up a brief description)
Here's a new play that I haven't seen posted here before. We can add this to the playbook.

UD when I clicked the diagrams, the first one said Iverson cuts to middle, and I thought it was referencing the POs VC vs AI. Good stuff though.

Lowry makes a UCLA cut off of the post after the pass to Lou on the wing. As soon as Lowry cuts off the high post, Patterson turns and sets a screen for DeMar coming off the stagger screen. Immediately after the stagger, Lowry then comes off the same stagger screen. With all the motion from the first stagger screen it gets the defense to get out of position because the screen defender is fixated on the ball and doesn't show to slow down Lowry's cut since Pressey has no chance to recover after getting rubbed on the first pick trailing Lowry by at least 2-3 steps behind. Bass drops back to contain the drive allowing Patterson to pop to the corner for the open three.

Raptors spread the floor with an army of shooters on the high pick-&-roll following the Iverson cut by Patterson above the elbows. What makes this play so dangerous is that the help defenders can't help on the roll or else they'll be leaving one of the shooters wide open. Bass doesn't "bump" Hansbrough's dive to the rim because he fears Vasquez will make the crosscourt pass to Patterson on the weakside fill conceding a wide open 3-pointer. Same with the ballside defenders sticking to Ross and LouWill like glue not helping one pass away. With no rim protection Vasquez slips a pass in tight confinement to Hansbrough for the easy finish.

For those of you that read TrueHoop you'll know who Kevin Arnovitz is, but wanted to share this tweet last night on my feed that seems to go against what many are still continually saying how Coach Casey has been running a stale offense:
[tweet]https://twitter.com/kevinarnovitz/status/533085402807037952[/tweet]
As soon I saw this tweet I knew which play he was exactly referencing to. You can see Coach Casey signalling for a Slice Action with his hand motion. Good stuff to get JJ deep post position on the SOB with the zipper cut by Patterson for the 3-point shot up top as the decoy to get the defense moving.
