Who on team Lithuania doesn't look pathetic?

dude you're just getting downright obnoxious.

If the team's playing like crap it's easy to blame Jonas because you expect him to carry a huge load. So I think BackseatBoss is just clarifying that everyone is struggling, not just him. It paints a better picture for me, who isn't watching the game. Plus, I know how people love to use JV as the whipping boy so it's hard to know what's real criticism, what's just mindless talk. Sounds like he's having a tough game but if the whole team is struggling it may be hard for anyone to get a rhythm.

Jonas needs to bring his big boy pants to Spain. No more games like this, please.

Lithuania had the game in the bag and then number 5 commits an offensive foul... Why?

Come on dude, if that was an offensive foul then I don't know what you're watching. Pathetic call by the ref. Granted, it was a tiny girly push, but this isn't WNBA.

it's pretty obnoxious to state the obvious and keep repeating it every other sentence. unless you're commenting for an individual with down syndrome, it's obvious that they're playing like scrubs. or maybe repeating the same thing to you seems clever.

Lithuania somehow got back into the rhythm they had in earlier games, mostly due to D-Mo. Jonas looked terrible the whole game. Quiet on offense, very bad on defense.

The end of this game is extremely weird. Brazil down by 3 with like 22 seconds left, Lithuania has the ball. Number 5 of Lithuania gets an offensive foul, then Brazil hold the ball until 5.5 seconds is left for an alley-oop type of layup, which they miss, then D-Mo is fouled, he misses both free throws, Brazil get the rebound and D-Mo somehow steals the ball from the Brazilians, Lithuania win by 3.

Really bad game by Lithuania, the only guys that looked somewhat OK were D-Mo and number 10. Even though Jonas had 11 points, that was easily his worst game so far. Tried to use his power way more than his quickness, which is stupid, because he was playing against Splitter and Nene. The pumpfake still lives on and nobody is falling for it. Defensively he made a few really bad mistakes, like leaving his opponent wide open underneath the basket, but wasn't really scored on directly. Still, this is not the kind of game I want to see from Jonas. The only thing we can hope for is that he bounces back.

i would have been fine with a loss here. all the leaders of the team have said this in post-game interviews. us winning makes others take us more seriously and other teams underestimating lithuania would benefit them in the long run.

If the team's playing like crap it's easy to blame Jonas because you expect him to carry a huge load. So I think BackseatBoss is just clarifying that everyone is struggling, not just him. I would say that this was first game in friendly series when Jonas in person and LTU as whole met real defense. No wonder that they all struggled. Nevertheless, what I don't like is Jonas' defense. He seems lost in paint and Splitter and Nene were penetrating at will. He, again, tends to overhelp on perimeter leaving bigs unattended. I hope this will not be the case when he's back in Raps homeland.

Wait, what? Lithuania won? I left when LTU was down like 10 in the fourth, thinking it was done and I could get some lunch

I wouldn't be surprised that such overhelping at the perimeter is a tactical strategy their coach is using. All Lithuania's bigs overhelp at the perimeter, not just Jonas. I mean hell, there were games where Jonas would have to stand around on defense at the three point line, which didn't really happen when he played for us. Also, Lithuania tend to switch on everything, there were way too many times that I saw Jonas switch to defending against the oppositions guards than I would like to. And I repeat again, it's not just Jonas that tends to switch like that, all of Lithuania's bigs do that.

Not true. Greece defence overall is much better than Brazil. Brazil is just very inconvenient team for Lithuania to beat because main strength for Brazil is bigs,

If I didn't watch a game and read this forum only, I would think that Brazil demolished Lithuania.
But even with terrible game from many LTU players, they still won. And won against really serious team with many NBA/Euroleague (some ex) players. Maybe something is done right?

People may have put too much stock into JV bullying the likes of Finland and Slovenia.
