Didn't work for Kwame Brown, who like Bargnani, was another #1 overall pick.

Rodman was one of the most hard working players the league has ever seen. Everything he did was hustle and it energized his teammates and the crowd. The coaches loved him for that.

Bargnani is nothing like Rodman whatsoever. It seems like an effort thing with him. A player needs to bring the effort night in and night out. The sooner the Knicks are done with Bargs, the better they will be. I honestly don't see many teams invested in him once he becomes a FA.

Bargnani probably has more talent than Rodman, but Rodman would eat Bargnani during warmups and Bargnani wouldn't even dare come into the game after that.

I never thought Bargnani had poor work ethic. He just has phlegmatic reaction speed and inattentive concentration.

Sure...if you don't consider rebounding a talent. Or defense.

I really think this is Bargnani's year though. He's what...30? Big men take longer to develop and he's a unique, true 7 footer. He needed a few extra years compared to someone like Marc Gasol. He's also 7'1, that extra inch accounts for a couple more development years.

I can see his prime lasting from 30-39 given that he doesn't rely on athleticism. Melo was smart to resign in time for Bargs' peak.

One of the most ignorant posts I've ever seen on here.

You mean the same Rodman who already had 2 titles prior to being coached by Jackson?
You mean the same Rodman who led the league in defensive win shares prior to being coached by Jackson?
You mean the same Rodman who was a 2 time defensive player of the year prior to being coached by Jackson?
You mean the same Rodman who All-NBA Defensive Team 7 times prior to being coached by Jackson?
You mean the same Rodman who led the league in rebounding 4 straight years (playing alongside David Robinson for part of that) prior to being coached by Jackson?
You mean the same Rodman who led the league in FG% prior to being coached by Jackson?
You mean the same Rodman who has the highest TRB% in NBA history by a WIDE margin?

I swear Rodman is so underrated by kids today. Watch Shaq's first game with the Lakers against the Bulls where Rodamn holds him to ZERO points throughout the 4th quarter and overtime. Nobody else could dream of doing that. Shaq had over 100 lbs on him, and 7-8 inches of height.

Shut your mouth. You're saying the worst rebounder of all time is more talented than the best of all time? Wow this forum is going down hill fast.

You're comparing one of the hardest working players to one of the seemingly laziest.

What was the point exactly? All I took from your post was a complete lack of understanding.

it was more to do with Kobe than it was to do with Phil. Kobe had an MVP season and got robbed by Nash.

If Phil was coaching us during the BC era, he couldn't have done anything.

Perhaps playing in a triangle system, staying healthy, and playing for a new contract (Bargnani will be an unrestricted free agent come July and is surely set for a massive pay decrease from his $11.5-million salary) will result in a career year for the big Italian, but that's a lot of speculation.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

is he just trying to bring confidence to him, or is he just blind?

I don't really see how this system is supposed to help him. The triangle relies on having good court vision, off the ball movement, corner cuts and good team passing, things we all know Bargnani EXCELS at. It's going to be hilarious when Bargnani starts turning in circles and running on the spot, because he has no idea where he's supposed to be on the floor, and the ball is moving too fast for him to catchup.

It will be interesting to see if Phil can turn around the Knicks. The entire roster needs to be fixed, but a few key trades and they might make the playoffs and contend for the atlantic.

This exactly. The Knicks were 6th worst in the league in DRTG last year. Every single playoff team from the East, with the sole exception of Brooklyn, was in the upper half of the league. But yeah, sure, Bargnani will be Kukoc and Amar'e will be 20 again. Playoffs.
