NBA league pass free trial - opt out??

Post#1 » by SoberKebab » Wed Oct 29, 2014 2:56 pm

Anyone else having this:

I've signed up for the free trial until 4 Nov, but there's no opt out option under My Packages like in the past? In fact it just says I'm now on "Monthly Pass" seemingly as though I've committed to paying for it??

Wtf!

Lots of people have been scammed by LP. I'm sure the opt out is somewhere, just incredibly well hidden. Worst case just talk to your credit card company.

It's funny how Ball Streams is illegal yet doesn't try to scam its customers like LP.

That's why I never sign up for it. If it's a free trial why do you need my credit card?

The free preview may only be for the annual pass. I did the same last year, signed up for free trial of the annual pass, then cancelled before the deadline with no problems.

I have it and I'm able to cancel it now if I want.
does anybody knows if this year's LP will have the option to buy the subscription ONLY for your team?

You could always cancel any payment from your credit card provider, in case you can't find the option to opt out.

Cheers it might come down to that. The ILP experience is definitely poor.

Are you able to watch Raptors games on LP? I read somewhere (another forum) that the Raptors games get blacked out.

I never needed to give them my credit card when signing up for the free trial.

That option doesn't exist in mine :-?

I do however, have the option of buying a one time league pass premium.

 Ballstreams is as legal as a 3 dollar bill. Here's some fine print from ballstreams, it's called a "cover our own ass" clause. It's up to the Netherlands to shut them down, which could happen since they changed their laws a few months ago.

Did anybody figure out how to opt out yet? I've emailed, submitted a ticket and no response. The only option I see under my packages is to upgrade to the premium version. Maybe if I upgrade to that there will be a opt out button?

I had league pass last year and had just got the one time subscription ....

I went on it for the first time this year today and it looks like its already been automatically renewed unless I cancel it before Nov5??

I don't know.

Yeah, it's opt out. And, it's really hars to find the opt out page. I sent them a very nasty letter, something along the lines of their practic being an egregious breach of Ontario consumer laws, which it is unless you signed up for automatic renewals, which I certainly didn't ("one-time subscription...").
