Let's talk about the fans

Post#1 » by kirkwood » Mon Jan 26, 2015 2:46 am

We have torn apart this team and called for everyone's head over the last month yet we still sit at 29-15, not bad! What we have not dissected yet is our fan base. Is it just me or has the ACC died and been painfully quiet the last month or so? No more let's go Raptor chants no defence chants, just dead quiet. Is it bandwagon Leaf fans or have we ourselves lost our passion?

Emotionally drained from the **** play.

I was at the Hornets game on Sunday and I'm normally pretty rowdy. Sat in silence for a better part of the 4th. It was just painful to watch.

Fans made Kyle Lowry an All Star game starter. Don't think it's lost passion, it's too much passion if anything IMO.

Because there's nothing to cheer for. The past few wins in this slump have been over the Sixers and Bucks and Pistons...

We just propelled Lowry into the all-star game just by sheer fan base strength and size. Lost what passion exactly?
"I definitely knew he traveled, but I didn't know they were going to call it. That was one of them situations in which a great player made a move...and they called the call. And I was like, 'Oh, man, there is a God.'

Team is playing with a lot less fire. Fans feed off the team

Can't blame the fans for the atmosphere in the ACC lately. Even during wins, the team has performed inconsistently and gotten outhustled and outplayed for large stretches of the game. That's going to take the energy out of the crowd. Exciting plays, lockdown D and going on runs is what gets the crowd hyped up. The Raps haven't done much of those things lately.

the fans that show up, they love the game too...but when games are really close and tense, if ur a big die hard fan, u get pretty nervous and tense up too, its how d body reacts...so not a lot of crazy cheering...when its time to get loud, our crowds can get loud with the best of them

My broke ass can't go because all the tickets are sold out and tickets that were $30 bucks last year are $60. Been to 5 games this year all earlier this year and the crowd was actually pretty decent though. The Wizards game was pretty nuts.

Bingo!

Every time the raptors have been able to string together a few possessions of decent play, the crowd has always woken up. And you'll also see the crowd try to get the raptors to wake up with some chants, etc.

But the team has been so inconsistent lately that it's hard to keep the chanting going when the Raps do stupid things on the court over and over again.

And I know this sounds comical but I think Dunks and Threes are down from last year. Dunks and Threes are your "pop" moments.

Just thinking maybe we can help pick them back up, I miss the fear we put in opposing teams players when coming here. Lately it's like a funeral and you can see opposing players once again not respecting us at all.

Yeah I've also noticed that too. In the beginning of the season it had that playoff like atmosphere but now it's just not the same. I blame the high tix prices and the suits who can afford it (stubhub the prices for the raptors game are just.....)

Chucking and terrible defense kind of sucks the atmosphere out the arena.

The playoff vibe will be back after the all-star break when games get more intense, the crowd was hyped before because of that Game 7 loss and no basketball for 5 months

Return to Toronto Raptors
