He claims to have not received an offer from the Raps. I'm surprised especially given the price tag and our needs. Hopefully Masai has something in the works.

TS% and PER aside, sure he's won us a few games in the 2nd half of the season when Derozan and Lowry were either out or had bad games, but there were plenty of games where he shot us out of it as well... How many patented 2/9 or 3/11 shooting nights did he have? Far too many. Scorers are replaceable imo.

Perhaps he expected to be courted whereas Masai was thinking of him more as his last resort if all else fell through.

Regardless, if Masai felt that way he probably had his reasons.

Actually, the Raptors never even gave him a offer to begin with and that was according to Lou. I'm pretty sure Masai did that because he felt the ISO ball movement was just ruining the flow of the game.

He shot 56% TS last year. That is fairly efficient. You are going to take a sample of 55 shots and use that to base his shooting rather then his actual entire shooting over the season.

Great math skills bro.

So you must have enjoyed his chucking and bricking, you must have cheered him on everytime he iso'd and bricked a shot, all those heat check 3's, him shooting from the logo. Or were you one of those hypocrites that bashed him on the game threads and now that he's gone bring up his 56% TS like he was the next best thing. Way to come out of the woodworks swinging like a clown :nonono:

I guess your english sucks too bro. Where did I say any of the stuff you are claiming I did.

Where did I say I enjoyed the way he played?
Where did I say I liked the end of quarter iso?
Where did i say I liked the heat checks?
Where did I say wanted him back?
Where did i say he was the next big thing.

I just said he was not an inefficient chucker. He is a chucker alright but not at an inefficient level. And TS% is a fair stat regarding efficiency especially when you were the clown that brought up math in the first place.

Your point was terrible. Just suck it up and move on.

Bro real talks, disable your account. You brought up his 56%TS and said he was fairly efficient. You even watch the games? His style of play disrupts the rhythm of the team. His style of play doesn't work here, if you really miss him that badly go follow him on the Lakers board pal.

I honestly don't know what the plan is right now. We have no starting PF and a weak bench. Meanwhile more and more free agents are being picked up by other teams every day. Masai needs to pull off another steal of a trade if we want to win next year.

I would have brought Lou back for the right price. 3 years at $21M for the reigning six man of the year is very reasonable in IMO. I'm cap illiterate but could we have brought him back for that pricetag given our current situation? If so, then it's clear that MLSE did not want him back because that's a fair price for Lou.

Either way with our moves thus far, I think its telling what the makeup/strategy of this team going forward will be. Wouldn't be surprised if we see a lot more grind it out basketball with a strong emphasis on the defensive end first. Maybe that means JJ is still here come October as well.

I rather have Williams @ 3/21 over Carroll @ 4/60 if i had to choose.

Won't miss him (and Casey's tendency to let him do whatever the hell he wanted on court) at all.

Definitely overpayed, but I read that Knicks and Pistons were after him and willing to pay around that much. Im sure he would have gotten 12-13m per, overpaying 2m per season isn't a huge stretch. It's only a bad contract for the first two seasons before the cap goes up...

Bye Lou. I was afraid Masai was going to try to bring everyone back. F that. We need a retool. I wonder who Masai is looking to use this cap on.

no way. lou filled an important role but he played zero defense and i think his role could be distributed throughout the bench. but our starting SF spot was a major negative this year and we got a high quality one.

I'm ok with letting him go. At that price tag I would be ok with keeping him as well but it would hamper what we could get to fill the void at PF so...
Bye bye Captain.

One less PF option available now.

Clarkson/Russell
Bryant/Williams
A. Brown/Young
Bass/Randle
Hibbert/Black

That's what the Lakers look like right now.

This should at least put to rest the idea of "we're putting a team together for Casey".

Lou was Casey's favourite SG for iso small ball, and clearly money wasn't the issue in keeping him. The message is: coach a team that doesn't rely on individual scorers, and actually plays defense. If we can't manage that with these guys, Casey's gone.

A lot of good value free agents still out there and lots of time for a trade. Not too worried just yet.
