Semi-OT: Suns looking to trade Markieff Morris

Hope Masai is all over this and does whatever he can to get him here. Only making 8 million a year for the next 4 years and fits in perfectly with our team. Even working out with Lowry.

He'd be a really good fit, keeps Pat Patterson in his normal role off the bench.

Perfect. Starting 5 complete. Add Green and send them Terrance and filler. Off-season complete

I like him, but I have a feeling that their Front Office and outs aren't the best trade partners. Remember they sabotaged our Ennis pick last year, plus reportedly tried to extort Ross. Masai was having none of that, and they ended up dumping him as a throw in.

I guess that does show that they have some interest in Ross though. But do we trade Ross for a one year rental?

How would Markieff be a rental? He's locked up till 2019 for 8 mill a year which is basically nothing for what he produces compared to what guys are getting now. We'd need to throw in picks to get him if anything. No way they deal him for Ross straight up.

they wanna trade him just because he doesn't get along with Hornacek....well damn, he's a pretty good offensive four who can stretch the floor and fits well with JV

I really don't know what you're talking about.. He's not a very good fit for this team. He's too much like Patterson. Morris is a great shooter (50.31% 8-16 feet is 2nd highest for a PF in the league under only Ppat) and 40% 16-24 feet to go along with 31% from 3. No question he's a good shooter and a good fit in that sense, but he's a terrible rebounder. Only 6.2/game, but more importantly he gets 56.5% of his chances at the rebound which is average but an atrocious 36% contested rebound %. He wouldn't help our problem for defensive rebounding infact he would make it worse. Also, he is a defensive liability. He gets good steal numbers (1.2/game) but allows 52.4% FG% at the rim to go along with only .5 BPG. He is a poor fit next to Val defensively which would overall make our frontcourt unsustainable defensively. Not a good fit at all.

He's certainly not the perfect fit but beggars can't be choosers. If the Suns are willing to take Ross for Morris you take it.
