So in a few years we'll have:

The Brazilian Durant
The African Ben Wallace
The Canadian Tony Parker
The Lithuanian Tim Duncan

Championship time!

I like BIyombo's game though.

Drummond's 17.8 rb, 1.6 blk and 1.7 stl so far this season is impressive and marginally comparable. Let's see if he can keep it up.

was just happy to see that he might have gotten the message about "you are not an offensive player, KNOW your role !" or maybe being a starter just has relaxed him a little more! I am certain it would relax 2Pat as well.

He always played better and way more consistent for us when he started.

Some people need to get a grip on reality.

I know some people have been chomping at the bits, waiting in shadows, at this chance to bring this start Biyombo over Valanciunas nonsense but making these idiotically outrageous claims do not help your case.

He was the best bargain signing this team ever made. He may not be perfect, but he fits this starting lineup like a glove.

Uggh, I'll need a little more evidence of that than one good game. He looked like he was paid appropriately for the first 10 games.

But hey, he does give us everything JV is weak at, and very little of what JV is good at. Maybe the starters can compensate for BB's weaknesses easier than they can for JV's. If so, great. Make JV the backup C for the season. CJ should be the PG he grows with anyway, as Kyle is like 7 years older than JV. Kyle is in his prime now, but JV is still years away. So is Joseph. Put them together and let them develop some chemistry. Nobody should give a crap which C is paid more. JV is the future. We all know that. Biz is a 1 year rental. If we make him look like a legit starter, 18 teams with max cap space (the ones who miss out on LBJ and KD), will all want to take a shot at him and offer some goofy salary - a salary that there is no way in hell Masai will try to match or beat - not after paying JV starter money.

Bit of a hyperbolic statement. Though by no means an offensive powerhouse, Ben Wallace had great hands, and around the basket could score. Whereas Bismack has bad hands and has little to no touch around the basket.

Furthermore, Wallace could shoot at least at a mediocre level, whereas Bismack just cannot, plain and simple.

Wallace had a positive BPM his entire career, whereas Bismack is still a negative because of how bad and useless he is on O. Same with the Vorp.

He is a very poor mans BW at best, as of right now. But he is young and if he can get even some semblance of O, he could be a really good two way player, a very light version of BW.

Defensively, Wallace was one of the best, if not the best, man to man and also help defender in the NBA. Bismack

The classic knee-jerk reaction thread.

Next thread will be "Ross = Tony Allen lite"

not really, as long as he sticks to rebounding(10+) and shot contesting/blocking with good defense which he is more than capable of doing then folks will be happy with him. He wasnt picked 7th for his offensive skills!

Anything else (i.e. on offense) should be considered a bonus.

After 1 good game against a team with no real centre. A little premature?

It's way too premature, I'm one of Biyombo's biggest fans but he doesn't deserve all these reactionary praise. With that said watching the highlights again it dawned on me on what made Biyombo sort of work offensively in Charlotte. Bounce passes. It's the only time he doesn't catch the ball like it's a used tampon. This year he's taking a lot more shots outside of 3ft compared to any year in his career. Just from the eye test the passes are a problem for him; what should have been an easy lay up going to the rim becomes a mid range jumper because he fumbled the pass and settled for a shot.

I hope with better chemistry Biyombo becomes more adept at catching his teammates' passes and the guards make a more conscious effort to make passes that'll be easier for him to catch. I've followed him a lot in Charlotte and this is the worst I've ever seen him at catching the ball since his rookie year.

Interesting. Gonna have to keep an eye out for that.
