I don't know if anyone seen the last inside the nba but I remember them putting one of those phony pics to make fun of Barkley at the ASG and it looked like a blizzard with Barkley and Ford so yeah they're already set to talk how we're so cold blah blah blah....

I remember hearing mark gasol was considering the Knicks before the cold all star game last year.. Apparently he wanted no part of NY after.

Honestly it makes no sense to me. During the season (which goes through the entire winter), the players are mostly on the road anyway. Then, in the offseason, you can either live wherever you want or you can enjoy the summer in toronto/new york/wherever, which is warm as hell. I fail to see how not liking cold weather makes any difference.

It makes even less sense because he plays in Chicago, which is not exactly a warm weather city.

Marc Gasol plays in Memphis, which is pretty warm.

I've told a couple of US writers on Twitter to leave their long johns at home. They are staying at downtown hotels and can walk underground to the ACC and to the media events. Unless they want to go to the club district, in which case they can take the cab.

In the middle of winter, Memphis can have some squirrely weather, and like a lot of those cities that gets an inch of snow or gasp, one centimetre of freezing rain, it handles it badly. Remember when Dallas hosted the all-star game and they almost had to call it off because of freezing rain the day before the all-star weekend festivities began? I'll say this for Toronto, ever since Mel called out the army, the city can handle pretty much everything winter can throw at it.

Fact is, everyone is staying at hotels on the subway or in some cases on the P.A.T.H. systems. The P.A.T.H. is the world's longest underground mall, and the media and sponsors don't have to go outside once they get off the plane. They can take the express train to Union Station and walk through it to the Royal York where most of the pooh-bahs are staying.

The weather predictions for the next day are usually off and a week is still a long time for things to change so it might not even be that cold. I mean they kept going on about the big rain storm last week but we didn't even get as much in the city as the news media ranted and raved about.

Even weather services themselves say they are basically guessing any weather more than 3 or 4 days in advance, let alone a week. There is very little chance it will be that cold a week from now. It may be colder than usual but unlikely that the temperature will be within 5 or 6 degrees of what they're predicting for next weekend.

Perfect. That way all those rich American's who are coming up here for the weekend will get good use out of those expensive newly purchased parkas.

It will be cold in Toronto in February.

In other news, the sky is, in fact, blue.

Good grief.

-19? -21?

That is brutal. Only thing worse is if there was a blizzard.

That is simply not true.

And it's NEW YORK anyway... not Canada.

Chicago. Boston. Minny. Milwaukee. Detroit.
The weather in these cities is definitely just as bad as here tho, if not worse.

It could be worse. A lot worse. Look at the weather around this time last year and you'll be thanking mother nature

Actually that is not true, New York has traditionally worse winters than Toronto because thier storms are alot worse. The way Toronto is situated by the lake, we have some of the best winter weather in the north east based on the amount of snow we get each year.

The better Q is, will any of you guys be watching a second of the all-star festivities?

You won't?

I watch it every year, I even watch Media Day and the hype before the actual events as well, I honestly love All Star Weekend.
