DeMar DeRozan Appreciation Thread

Post#1 » by Shanman » Sun May 22, 2016 3:47 am

The kid balled out in a purely mid-range/rim run assault in the Conference Finals with all the hate fueling him. He also adjusted to the defense and helped spark that crucial Bismack 6-0 run. Between all the bull calls on Lowry (which ESPN commentators were calling the refs out on) stopping his good game, this was needed for the win. It just shows you how crucial his scoring is to his game as a whole, because it boosts up all other aspects of his game. Wish it was the other way round, but you have to respect that where others may fold under the pressure he found a way.

I don't know if 1 game completely changes a whole career, but certainly you have to give him credit for tonight. This was hands down the best game of his career imo.

I thought so too. Especially with a must win ECF game at home. He needs to keep on driving hard like he did today. Still a few dumb unnecessary jumpers but coming from a DD hater, he had a helluva game.

Definitely worthy of praise. Two huge assists to BB at the end.

He's been playing well or better than before since game 4 in the heat series

Which is something we knew he could do. I just want to kick him for all the times he hung people out to dry massaging his slumps into a sink hole.

Demar is a great player when he's reminded to drive and kick rather than just hang around the 3 point line shooting long twos.

that's on coaching.

I was highly critical of him against Indiana. But give the man his due. He is making improvements to his game. He is learning how to get his shots off without holding the ball too long. He's making quicker moves. He's passing the ball at the right time instead of forcing shots.

I want to see the man succeed more than anyone on this team (even more than Kyle) because he's been here since he was a kid. I've seen him develop into a grown man. I did not like seeing his self -inflicted troubles against Indiana. But I think they were growing pains. Regardless of what happens henceforth he must be counted as one of the greatest Raptors of all time. And Kyle and DeMar might be the greatest tandem in Raptors history

Demar has been playing great this series, as in hes actually adjusted to playoff basketball.
He's no longer just aimlessly driving, looking for ticky tack fouls and throwing his arms in the air looking to get bailed out, he's no longer taking ridiculous fade away jumpers but playing at the flow of the game.
Also it helps when you arent being guarded by bigger guys like PG/Deng. That seems to be DD's weakness and next step.
he has to learn how to play against guys who are simply stronger and willing to exert ball-pressure.
If you were watching the 4th, when LBJ started to smother Demar, he started to struggle and that indecisiveness came into play again, however, when he had love/JR/Kyrie on him, he was burning them

Notice how this topic only has 2 pages wild. Dd is a beast hes a slow learner but hes getting how playoff bball is for himself. Ppl that want to sign batum for him are nuts.

Basically a demar derozan and kyle lowry led team is in the ecf 1-2 against a 108 mill lebron led team. Demar's game is so ineffecient and ugly and shouldnt yeild results but it does. I think this has to do with the great pieces around him and so he can focus on scoring. I think hes actually been fairly decent defensively so far in the playoffs with the exception of the overhelping off jr tonight
