Apparently it was Patterson + Bebe + #9 for Ibaka. Glad that didn't happen.

IMO Oladipo alone is worth around a 3-6 pick in this draft anyways, so It's not Masai's fault he couldn't strike the deal.

Masai might overpay on a contract, but he'll never overpay on a trade. That's a source of comfort.

this is true, but what I think about is at some point if we're ever going to trade for a star, that overpay has to happen where he's willing to consolidate talent/picks. That said, after seeing Boston not be able to make this type of deal happen, which they've been looking for for a while now, maybe this type of deal just isn't out there in this new landscape - a bunch of good pieces is not going to land anyone a star. Kevin Love landed Andrew Wiggins, which even at the time was an overpay.

I'm glad we didn't move our #9 pick (evidently plus more, looking at what they got) for a year of Ibaka though.

Still can't believe Orlando caved to that kind of demand. Masai has shown he's willing to walk away when bids get too high.

OKC destroyed that trade imo.

Dipo is gonna be a GREAT fit in b/w Russ & KD. Gives even better offense than Waiters and is a MUCH better defender. Ibaka's shotblocking will somewhat be missed but his obvious decline and Adams offsets that anyways.

Sorry but KD needs to stay in OKC. They could have easily taken out GSW, they match up even better this year.

No it wouldn't, at all.

Ibaka had a down year by any measure, but on this roster, he'd go back to doing what he is meant to do.
Rim protection, and somewhat stretch 4 role. He complements JV perfectly, and can still drop 16-10 on any given night.
We don't need more projects at this point, they won't get playing time. Ibaka is a huge upgrade to Patterson, and Bebe barely touches the court.

However, what Orlando offered was a way better package than that anyways...so...moot point.

well he's only been playing basketball for 4 years so I'm not surprised. Who would have High Basketball IQ after only playing 4 years?

Not saying he couldn't bust, but he has star potential.

This team needs a star! I rather strike out trying to get one than draft a couple rotation players.

Patterson + Ross + 9(Sabonis or Poeltl) for Ibaka

Illy + Victor + (sabonis) trumps our offer because Victor is the best player. I like it for OKC because they got Victor and a Rookie Big but what the hell are we going to do?
