Uh oh. Incoming Bargs hate. I hope he does well and he finishes with a semi respectable career. Most of his issues with us were health related and the fact he never seemed happy or could ever crack a smile kind of indicates a lot that went on behind the scenes. He probably has strong opinions on NBA fans or at least some of them. Was he his own worst enemy? Who knows.

I always felt his health may have been conditioning related. I don't recall hearing much about him training very hard in the offseason. Except for that "pylon run".

You look at DeMar in contrast, and the dude always seems to be in fantastic shape.

How many people have gotten mad at Jstock's first post even after he made it clear he was being sarcastic at the beginning of page 2?

I think many people respond before reading follow up posts.

I know for me my sarcasm meter was off because of some of the idiotic things his supporters said while he was here. But as I said I should have known better.

It's the only thing keeping this thread alive.

In truth, no matter how long the list of players for the Raptors in 21 seasons, Bargs is at the bottom of it. If not in the stats, then in our hearts. Rasual Butler narrowly beats him out.

LMAOOOO TOP 3 PLAYER? WHAT, JUST BECAUSE OF THAT MAGICAL 13 GAME STRETCH WHERE HE DOMINATED? GIMME A BREAK. MIGHT AS WELL SAY THAT RASHO NESTERVICH WAS OUR BEST LOW POST PRESENCE WE EVER HAD.

I MEAN GOOD LORD HAVE MERCY. BARGNANI WAS A WALKING STIFF. SOFTER THAN TISSUE.

IF YOU SAY TOP 10 THEN YES

bargnani's game still translates to today's nba... in fact, with the way the nba has evolved, you could say that bargnani was ahead of his time so to speak. BC actually had the right idea and the foresight into the future of the nba, its just bargnani can never be more than a role player and being drafted 1, with star expectations was a bad situation for him. its obvious now that bargnani was too flawed to be a star but he still has game and could still be a stretch 4/5 role player... if guys like channing frye have a place in the league, theres no way bargnani shouldnt.

Watching that summer league video... man, what happened? He really had potential, but his flaws got even worse after all these years, I swear he was a better rebounder and shooter in Treviso at 19 year old. Guy is averaging 2.8 rebounds in the Euroleague so far!

lolwut?

Vince
Demar
Lowry
Bosh

MAYBE he's in the top 5 because of his scoring ability at his prime... but that's being generous.

Which "health related" issue? The nasal surgery in 2008 to repair of a deviated septum that was suppose to clear his sinuses so he wouldn't have to be so tired all the time and play so much with his mouth open? Nope never bought into any of it.

Bargnani's issues could be summed up in 2 words:

Lazy. He had oodles of talent but poor work ethic. His summer workout consisted of playing for the Italian national team, so he'd start every season out of shape. On court, how many times did you see him dive to grab a ball? Heck, if it weren't within 6 inches of his fingertip, he's not getting it.

Stubborn. That Caliper Test was accurate but BC had misinterpreted it. BC thought it said Bargs would be immune to outside criticism. But, instead, what he was immune to is coaching advice. That "we play basket-ball, not rebound-ball" comment was typical. He had his own way of thinking, coaching be damned.

The only "health related" concern was the issue between his ears. Had he DeRozan's work ethic and was coachable, he'd not only still be in the NBA today but he'd also be a perennial all star earning the max. He's an ideal fit to today's perimeter oriented offence. Too bad.
