First comment still holds true, and applies to people like you. Love to complain about anything and everything without even giving it a chance. Just like when we got RJ and you were constantly sh*tting on him before he even took the floor.

Here you are comparing the McDaniels signing to the RJ acquisition:

Great call man.

But yes at the end of the day, I was wrong about McDaniels and had hoped he'd pan out to be a decent role player. I can admit when I'm wrong.

I've admitted that thus far I've been wrong about RJ in other threads. RJ has been better than expected, on a bad team. Jalen was worse than expected, on a bad team lol.

Difference is, I never blanket called people "legitimate casuals" for holding a differing opinion.

**** stop man.

You have called people much worse because they do not agree with you. You cant take the high road here.

Lol

There is a reason why there is a large contingent of the TWO group who is now gone. They have been banned for being overall **** to everyone who did not agree with them.

But hey - you just proved my point by calling the people you disagree with "apologists".

Agreed. Would rather give the roster spot to someone that will actually play like they give a sh*t.

McDaniels' body language is TOXIC. His teammates on the bench don't even both raising their arm or standing up prematurely when he shoots, because they know he's gonna miss.

Get this bum off our team.

I'd be okay with keeping him if someone could point to a single, solitary thing he does well, because I haven't seen a damn thing. Love the attempt....it didn't work out (AT ALL)...time to cut bait.

Cutting bait is a horrible decision for the simply fact his salary is not regained if he is gone, but you lose the ability to aggregate his cap hit.

He’s the last of the long arms, no skill brigade that Masai and Bobby tried to stockpile. Get rid of him this summer and let’s cut ties with that era.

Edit: Boucher too

I'm all for tossing him in a trade with Brown and/or Boucher. Failing that thought, the FO needs to weigh waiving him and eating the "dead money", against using up a roster spot on a guy for which there is no hope. Ultimately I don't care how he leaves, as long as he is not on the roster.

Did the teams he played with before use him in some ways we failed to? I never watched him play before this year but statistically he appeared to be okay. Seeing him play here I'm not sure I've ever seen someone play worse. Is it just that he didn't really want to come here and doesn't care?

Well, unless he is traded in the off-season he likely is with us until at least next deadline. We are not going to cut a guy that can salary filler as you would be more upset if there was a deal you want but you are 4M short and he would have made it work

Can someone start a Jalen McDaniels ain’t it thread instead of bumping this thread all the time. The Shams heading makes me momentarily think something new has happened and the reminder that he is signed until next year is too upsetting.
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?

Please advise….

It was 4 million in cap space. Even now, he's not wrong.

What did I say?
The only mistake masai can make is if he signed someone like Flynn to 30 million a year.

Why are you quoting yourself? Kinda weird.

I was way higher on McDaniels when he was signed because of the way he was shooting the ball with Philly just prior to him coming here. His contract (and the roster spot he occupies) is now a waste. I was wrong. On the plus side - he, Boucher and Brown collectively net a max contract in trade eg. Zach LaVine.

Regardless, this is still my favourite trade: Brown/Boucher/McDaniels/Future 1st for Deandre Hunter and Dejounte Murray

PG IQ/(#6 pick - Reed Sheppard)
SG Murray/(UFA - Malik Monk)
SF Barrett/Gradey
PF Scottie/Ochai/(#31 pick - BPA)
C Poeltl/Kelly/(#17 pick - Zach Edey)

Stupid shooting and ability to grow together over the next few years. Decent length at most positions as well. MLE can be used to fill in for what's missing and take some third string fliers. Edey will be ready when Kelly's contract expires.
I believe in Masai.

You have to be really bad in order to not live up an insignificant contract.

Personally, I think he got his big "payday" from Masai and will try again next season because he needs another big payday.

If the solution to the McDaniels mistake (albeit small one) is to turn it into a colossal mistake by trading for Lavine we need to fire everyone, including the janitor.

I’m not as low on Zach Lavine as you are, but I’m fairly certain I mentioned him once vs. The rest of what I said. He’s an example of a max contract, and if we do get him we should be asking for other assets alongside him. For that reason I’m open to the idea. The bulls have solid youth and given the lack of strength in this draft could even trade their first in a package including Lavine. Not sure he’s the best fit on our roster but he does bring shooting and athleticism with the massive health question mark.

He’s not my first choice, but he is a choice.

Lonzo and Caruso for Brown/Boucher/McDaniels is something I’d do - especially if we keep our lotto pick. If Lonzo can return as a medical miracle via Alex McKechnie, this trade is a home run. Even netting Caruso alone would be massive for our winning percentage next year. The bulls pull a Rudy Gay trade here too, imo. Check out that bench!

PG IQ/(#6 - Sheppard)
SG Barrett/Lonzo
SF Caruso/Gradey
PF Scottie/Ochai/(#31)
C Poeltl/Olynyk/(#17)
I believe in Masai.
