Another clueless post. They’ve pivoted into a direction they saw as a possible path coming into the season. They clearly had this avenue planned given they re-made the roster well before the trade deadline and hired a coaching staff focused on development who clearly was never under a directive to optimize for wins at all costs.

FO has been fine over the last few years. The big mistake was letting FVV walk, I think this is the only inexcusable move Masai and Bobby have made (not made) and resulted in the Poeltl trade becoming a massive headache.

Looking forward to the evidence you’re going to present to prove that. Also, even if you do, which I’m confident you won’t, who actually gives a ****?

You are objectively wrong

70% of POSTS does not mean 70% of POSTERS.
What an absolute failure and disaster this franchise is, ran by one of the most incompetent front offices in the league.

Orlando beating Chicago was good imo

Don’t want Indiana getting past 6th seed

Masai misread the market and lost Fred for nothing. That loss made the Poeltl trade inexcusable. I didn’t mind the Poeltl trade if it was a top 14 protected pick but giving up such a lightly protected pick with a team full of question marks was a big blunder. Perhaps Masai’s biggest blunder.

I don't think management was fine, but at the same time, it's not a big deal.

The same fans are freaking out over nothing pretty much every single day. They're unable to handle simple statements like "1+1=2". It's like a massive trigger for them to state a fact. Crazy way to live.

Meh - I honestly would rather convey a pick in this draft than next. Obviously lottery protections for all years of the trade would be better, but SA probably does not trade Poeltl for such a minimal return anyways if they thought it was essentially a fake 1st and was really 2 2nds

Never been on RealGM before.

I’ve been on other boards but nothing since mid 2010s. Family, life, career all took over for a while. Those things are still there but kids are getting older so not the same.

And the tools were the media I was referring to. Their job is to give reactionary hot takes because having the same talking points day in and day out with a GM who is as patient as Masai gets boring. Their takes never age well but they won’t tell anyone that.

There is no way Memphis wins one of their next three. We really need to make sure we're tanking properly here.

Raptors = 25 wins and 54 losses with 3 road games remaining against Brooklyn and Miami (x2)
Grizzlies = 27 wins and 52 losses with 1 road game against Cleveland and 2 home games against LA Lakers and Denver.

If we win all 3 games and they lose all 3 of theirs, we end up with 1 more win than them.
If we win all 3 games and they win 1 of theirs, we both end up with a record of 28 wins and 54 losses.

If we win all 3 games and they win 2 of theirs, they end up with 1 more win than us.
If we win all 3 games and they do as well, they end up with 2 more wins than us.
If we win 2 games and they lose all 3 of theirs, we both end up with a record of 27 wins and 55 losses.
If we win 2 games and they win 1 of theirs, they end up with 1 more win than us.
If we win 2 games and they win 2 of theirs, they end up with 2 more wins than us.
If we win 2 games and they win all 3 of theirs, they end up with 3 more wins than us.
If we win 1 game and they lose all 3 of theirs, they end up with 1 more win than us.
If we win 1 game and they win 1 of theirs, they end up with 2 more wins than us.
If we win 1 game and they win 2 of theirs, they end up with 3 more wins than us.
If we win 1 game and they win all 3 of theirs, they end up with 4 more wins than us.

If we win all 3 games and they lose all 3, we end up with a better record and land in the #7 spot.
If we win all 3 games and they win 1 of theirs, we end up with the same record (28 wins and 54 losses).
If we win 2 games and they lose all 3 of theirs, we end up with the same record (27 wins and 55 losses).
Other than those 3 scenarios, they'll end up with more wins than us and the 7th worst record this season.

If we're hopeful for history to repeat itself, we'd actually have better luck getting the #1 pick with a record in the range of the 7th to 9th worst as they've received the top selection twice as often as the team finishing with the 6th worst record.

Looks like our 6th best odds is in jeopardy if we win that game despite resting RJ/Olynyk/Trent and Poeltl /Barnes injured

Tonight game is tight

Memphis could be only one game away of catching us

Memphis might not win another game .

The pointless Milwaukee win could hurt us .

Indeed

Hopefully Memphis win next game or Raptors lose next game and so we can have a season finale with no fear of winning.

All we have to do is lose 1 game to Miami and we’re fine.
