That's a really good question. It's very hard to answer!

We used to say that on this board all the time and then we won a championship. Have patience.

Trading for a star player makes things a bit easier.

I care not about all star teams and player awards.

But it's insane that Jamal hasn't been an allstar yet. Just goes for show how stupid that whole thing is.

All star is a regular season award, not a playoff award.

Paolo and Scottie are both all stars but would you really pick them over someone like Siakam or Murray in a playoff setting ? Most likely not.

It is insane to me that guys like scotty Barnes have been Allstars while Jamal murray has not.

But I don't care much about it about it. It's just crazy to me.

No. Murray’s body can’t survive being the #1 option over a 82 game season, it’s too much of a load on his body.

Secondly, I believe Scottie is way better equipped to handle being a first option over Murray yet at the same time, I do believe Murray is a much better player in a playoff setting. It’s funny how that works that way but these are the cool nuances of regular season basketball vs playoff basketball.

The nba places so much emphasis on allstar selection and individual accolades. I mean....that stuff is baked into contracts and max limits. There's no other pro sport where media figure voting procedures determine the details of player contracts.

Which is ridiculous to me because individual stats are primarily driven by team role.

The exact same player performing at the exact same level will put up completely different stats on different teams in different roles.

It seems specific to basketball. There was a poster who said earlier this year: "we've been dreaming that scotty would increase his average rebounds from 7 to 9" or something like that. Like who cares?

The whole nba way of thinking has brainwashed ppl into thinking such a change in rebounding stats for an individual player has any impact on team winning or player value. End of day....it's actually very easy to increase an individual's average rebound stat if you are willing to sacrifice the good of the team to do so.

Just have them cruise the boards for rebounds instead of getting back on d or running the floor on offense.

It's all ridiculous to me. "We've been DREAMING that scotty would average 8 rebounds instead of 6".

Who cares?

Can't help but also think this type of nonsense is a function of fantasy leagues and video games and sports gambling.

A front court player's average rebounds WILL go up significantly if they don't run back on defense and don't run the floor on offense.

LeBron sulks away from his press conference

AD storms away from his press conference

Embiid cries through his press conference

Regarding OG....Philly is a bad matchup.

Maxey is too fast....hell...too fast for most guards
Embiid is too big....and with Robinson and Hartenstein....isn't needed

So then he spends most of his time covering Harris and Oubre.....and is shutting them down. No forward has more than 10 points in either game for Philly.

Lots of teams are led in part or in whole by their star forward...Boston, Bucks, Indy, Heat, Clips, etc... Having OG vs those teams will have massive value.

And in saying that, I am still glad the Raps are not going to sign him to a big contract.

Philly should be up 2-0, the talent gap is too immense without Randle.
Jason Hart stepping up big and outplaying the always so disappointing Tobias Harris(such a tease that player though)
On a side, I didnt know Nurse like to bling like that: Rolex Gold with a matching gold chain, okay Nick, I liked it!

theyre lucky playing with him. 27, 20 and 10 9/16 shooting vs a great defender in AD

He’s the best player in the world, but that was a rare bad decision that won’t get talked about because they managed to pull out the win.
