The media keeps trying to push the spotlight on AntMan and Shai (and worst Tatum) who are absolute studs but the league will really belong to Vic & Luka.
Alien and Luka are both generational so I agree 100%. Ant Man is too. Shai and Tatum don’t pop the same way in terms of highlight reel moments, but they both are the engines that drive their teams. The league needs a constellation of stars, so marketing the guys who are in smaller markets makes a world of sense (Shai, Antman). It’s what I (we?) wished they would’ve done more of for the Raps around Bosh and heck even Vince!
Vince yes, Bosh hell no.
We need to trade Siakam for AJ Griffen before it's too late! - PhilBlackson
Vince was generational, so again - we agree. I’m just saying that it’s in the NBA’s best interest to have big stars in smaller markets that they can then advertise.
The Lakers and Celtics and the Florida and Texas teams will always have an advantage with free agents so knowing that it makes sense to go all in on Shai and Antman while their small market teams are winning and they’re playing well.
As for Bosh, he wasn’t the most marketable but he was one of the smartest players who sacrificed his for the sake of the team. While I’m not the biggest fan of his because of his awkward comments and the way he chose to leave the city, I also see his skill. It’s truly disappointing that he had to retire without being able to grow into a league that began to cater to the exact skill set he developed being the #3 on those Miami teams.
I believe in Masai.
