I certainly didn't see this "impact" while watching the game.

Articles just went out a few days ago saying hes turned the corner since january and emerged as a true 3 dimensional scorer.

Sounds like hes taken a step. His stats over that period show it.

https://www.hoopsrumors.com/2024/03/central-notes-cunningham-weaver-toppin-walker.html

Do they though? From 3, prior to Jan he made 1.9 on 5.6 attempts. Since Jan he's made 2 on 5.3 attempts.

In Jan he shot 32%, he's just taken slightly less 3's and had a hot February shooting 44%. In March he's back to normal shooting 36%. I wouldn't draw any conclusions off 10 games in Feb lol.

His overall TS% in Jan was 51.7%, Feb 59.5%, March so far 53.5%. For context, Oct 52.4%, Nov 51.2%, Dec 59.8%. Doesn't look like anything besides a hot Feb.

Idk i just read a blurb in an article saying hes hitting 47% of his 3s in 2024 and its from every possible 3 pt shot possibility (stop and pop, off the dribble, etc…)

His stat line sited in the article is all nba level.

Like i said, idk, ive probably seen cade play like 4 times ever lol

Im just sharing what i read

I like him…I see a younger bigger Gary Harris. Rotation guy, maybe 3rd or 4th guard on a good team. Very broad range of potential…like Gary’s career…18 ppg starter with a guy like Jokic, marginal player on ORL. If Barnes becomes TOR’s offensive hub …anything like Jokic’s court vision…Ochai could be a big beneficiary.

*I'm not a believer in Point Scottie- but that’s another thread 8-)

I am not sure what to expect from him or maybe I'm expecting too much. It's games like todays when most of your key roster guys are out, so you expect one of these guys to shine, like Ochai.

Turned out to be pretty meh, missed maybe 2 corner 3s that are supposed to be his speciality. Maybe he can play defense, but in todays NBA you probably won't have a long career if you will be shooting below 40%. His shooting has regressed with Toronto.

I’m not stressing it. Progress isn’t linear.

He shot the ball from 3 really well in college.

He’ll look a lot better playing off Scottie and coming off the bench.

I don’t think he’s a starter (unless you have a few all-star caliber players already starting), but he can be a very good rotational piece coming off the bench.

Hoping for a third year jump like Scottie made.

Grayson Allen at age 23 was just as bad of a 3pt shooter as Ochai.

He's now the league's best 3pt shooter statistically and is automatic from deep.

Patience.

Grayson took a big step from his rookie season (23) to sophomore season (24), so I'm hoping Ochai can do the same.

Agbaji finishing at the rim is really bad.

He’s been pretty underwhelming. The potential is there but he’s very invisible. I kind of wonder if he’s one of those really late bloomers, in which case will he still be around for us to see it?

Eh, Ochai is about to be 24 in a month. I'll give Gradey until at least 22 before i write him off.

Weird to write off a 23 year old as well though.

He was good in the first half.

Pleased with his last two outings.

He defended an All-Star in Paolo pretty effectively.

I didn't write him off I just said he looks terrible. Could he still be something? sure, I guess but so far it isn't looking good.

Banchero did most of his damage when Agbaji was out of the game or on switches

I’d like to know if that is me wanting to see that or if true

Only real easy bucket was his last 3

Whenever Agbaji wasn’t on him, Banchero attacked. When Agbaji was on him, I felt Banchero became more of a facilitator

Weird to compare him to a player 4 years younger, with not even 50 games in the league.

I suggest rewatching the plays, in most cases he lost him pretty easily. Granted this only shows the FGAs, not the overall game.

Weird to act like Agbaji has significant experience either though. He has 126 games played in his career.
What an absolute failure and disaster this franchise is, ran by one of the most incompetent front offices in the league.
