Knicks have good defense again this season. Thibs utilizes drop coverage style. ALL defensive styles give up something. The better question in evaluating a centre's defense is can your guards/perimeter players handle the responsibility involved.

In taking Ware over Edey, but I wouldn't mind drafting Edey. I still rather go wing wing and big with the Det pick.
I wanna draft Salaun with the Pacers pick, at 6 I'm still unclear what to do. The only players I want at the top of the draft are Sarr & Rischarer.

Salaun will probably not last to 16-17.

Good to see McLean challenge Ware. Seems to have worked transferring to Indiana. Hopefully he goes back for more this pre-draft.

Just curious. What is it that you like about Holland more than Castle?

After watching quite a bit of video on both, I am not sure what Holland does better than Castle. Smoother looking shooting stroke, but they shot a similar % from 3. Castles ball handling is miles ahead of Holland. I have also read that Holland is closer to 6'^6" than 6"8". It will be interesting to see what the measurements are on these two.

dream draft:

Raps pick moves up - Risacher (wing of future/ MPJ with Defense)

Indy pick- Kyshaun George (high ceiling 6'8 wing who can shoot = poor man's Paul George in prime)

Detroit pick- Tyler Kolek (at worst backup PG of future, most underrated player in draft)

draft day trade - Ulrich (big swing, under the radar, high ceiling big, Giannis-esque bet)

would be set for the future

No idea why teams didn't pursue him last draft. Withdrew with no promise of guaranteed money. Has some efficiency issues at times but has been on fire for a while now. Obviously pending legal issues.

Besides pending legal issues, his age is a concern. For perspective:

Do you think he's a PG, SG, or combo-guard longterm?

Poor feel for the game might be a red flag for a lot of teams. If you look at pre-NBA scouting reports or highlights, players like Giannis and Siakam had already established some of their strengths. Both Siakam/Giannis had criticisms of playing against weaker competition. If you look at Coulibaly, even though he was raw, he was shooting 53% from the floor and has nearly tier 1 athleticism and plays a high level defense.

Tidjane is shooting 37.3% from the field, 54.7% at the rim (Bilal was 67.7% at the rim) with some analysts saying he has poor feel on both sides of the court + on the boards. The potential is there due to size, length and athleticism, but the development period is long and many of these archetypes don't pan out.

Not 1:1 comparisons, but to me, Risacher is like a taller longer Batum without the passing game. KyShawn George is like Kyle Anderson with lower b-ball IQ/weaker passing, but a better shooter.

Kolek at 31 would be nice

Thaddy wrote:Clingan is a better prospect than Edey but I can see a moron GM taking Edey ahead of him. I would be very happy if we came out with Reed and Clingan in the first round. They would be immediate contributors and have positive value as rookie contracts. This draft is incredibly weak, coming out with a few rotation level bench players would be a homerun.

I agree. But I'd add, personally, I want Clingan, then Reed. Clingan won't make it to the Indy pick. Reed probably won't either, but since he wiffed in March... who knows.

Solid combo in the mold of Brogdon or Derrick White
