I asked this in the draft thread earlier.
I'd have him around 5.

Pretty much every player Masai drafts would go top-5 in a re-draft (or #1 in the case of Scottie). He needs to do more of that drafting thing and less of that trading picks away thing.

Gradey might never be better than this version of Wagner lol.

This is a wild question.

Gradey does not go top-5 in a redraft of last year, probably not top-10 either

yeah he isn't going top 10

13-18 is still his range in a redraft

in no order:

Wemby
Miller
Scoot
JJ
Lively
Wallace
Podz
Amen
Ausar
Whitmore
Bilal

all go ahead of dick

Wemby, Wallace, JJ, Lively, and maybe Amen are the only guys from that last who have looked good this season, and I'm not sure how high the ceiling is for guys like JJ (already 23) and Lively (very limited offensive skillset).

You don't think Miller's looked good in comparison to Gradey?

Ridiculous. And I'll bet money that by next season you'll both be singing a different tune.

Scoot 37 percent FG and 30 percent 3FG screams bust. Early in the season, he was negative in PER. I am not high on the Thompson twins. Probably potential starter but not a future allstars despite their elite athletism. Both shoots around .10 3FG percentage and lack feel&skills.

You don’t do re-drafts after a year because you end up with lists like this; some are having a good first year, some are showing promise, some are still living on draft hype.

I like that he's staying aggressive and pushing the limits of what he can do in the league. Taking the extra dribble, trying to finish in traffic - yeah, it's going to be ugly sometimes, but hopefully it means he's been working hard in practice and trying it game speed. Strength and conditioning will be huge. He could be like GTJ but with better driving (as a reasonable outcome, not ceiling or floor)

He’s going to be miles better than GTJ. Far better shooter with a great IQ for the game.

I certainly hope so but everyone has potential until they don't. GTJ was a 20-year-old prospect once upon a time too. Incredibly disappointing this year but still a proven rotation player in this league

Sure, but he wasn't exactly a great 20-year-old prospect. Here are GTJ's stats from his rookie age 20 year (the same as Gradey this year):

2.7 pts, 0.7 rbds, 0.3 asts on .320 FG% and .238 3pt%

Gradey is off to a much better start, and so while Gary has made a good career for himself, it's not unreasonable to think that Gradey has a brighter future.

Based on their rookie year who goes before him?

Would 100% take Gradey over a handful of those guys. Both in terms of fit and upside. Just because he wasn’t league ready coming into the NBA, doesn’t mean he’s going to struggle with fit going forward. He has almost every attribute you would want playing next to Scottie Barnes which is huge for his development and his future.

I think there's a chance Gradey cracks the top 5 in the draft.

JJJ and Podz are both older and I'm not sure actually that much better at this point in the season. Whitmore is a good scorer but has tunnel vision as bad as anybody we've seen, has to he an elite scorer to have a positive contribution. The Thompson twins have been pretty horrible shooters so far which could hold them back,

Don't think it's unreasonable Gradey passes some of the other guys on the list, like Wallace, Scoot

In the long run, it's always possible. Based on this season? Not a chance. Podz and JJJ have been older than Gradey this entire time (and Podz not by much), it's absurd to dismiss that they're playing ball at a much higher level (and for much better teams) right now. The irony in some of you guys calling Scoot a bust already - you already forgot how Gradey was playing 4 months ago? And it's not like he's crushing it now either, come on.

Gradey's *always* been rankes the #1 shooter in his class. Can anyone truly say he's head and shoulders above everyone else so far this year?

In a redraft, Gradey would probably be drafted right around where he was drafted last year, maybe a bit higher. There are players that have been worse but maybe flashed more upside.
