Huge difference in coaching and scrambling. Watching Purdue right now feels exactly like watching the Raptors earlier this season.

Ball handler running into the worst possible spots on the floor taking themselves out of a simple pass or shot.
Other guys positioning themselves into the worst possible spots making themselves unable to catch/shoot, or repeat the putrid cycle.
Game plan every offensive trip down the floor is clearly "get the ball to Edey (Siakam) as close as you can to the basket anywhere"
Defensively the instruction doesn't seem more than "get the ball, rebound the ball on missed shots, go."

Edey is a less skilled, worse athlete version of Boban. He’ll play spot minutes in the NBA at best

Now that we get to see Edey against athleticism, he’s not a very good defensive player.

Also against a coach smart enough to put him through screens every possession. A lot of teams in the NCAA are really badly coached. UConn isn’t one of them.

Anybody that has Edey even close to the lottery either doesn’t have a clue or has relationships with NBA agents they are trying to cultivate (very clearly Givony). Either way, they aren’t things you should be taking in any way seriously.

And nothing that is going on with Edey in this game isn’t anything that hasn’t been seen before with him. He’s never been able to guard a PnR at anywhere close to a NBA level.

Is it known?? Cuz in the Edey thread he got a lot of truthers. I’ve been saying situational big in the league the whole time. Rasho was big and slow but he could screen, rebound, and clog the paint. I don’t even see that with Edey. He’s closer to Boban than people want to admit.

Not trying to throw any shade at your insight. But the guy is slow and gets lost on defense. Tonight he has to hedge so much because he’s not getting any help from his team. Probably can improve with better athletes around him or a better system, or his own work, but it’s been a theme. IMHO.

Haha I agree with you fundamentally. What I’m saying is most people don’t see it that way.

As for my draft insight, I have a track record. It’s good. Not perfect. But damn good.
