This all just makes me angry that we didn’t tank a year earlier, when everyone besides bobby/masai knew we should…

I made a tank for Wemby thread. I was shunned. People didn’t want to tank.

Would have got more for Siakam, anything for Fred. At least they’re making an effort to keep this pick.

Thats just one of the many screw ups since the Championship. We’re finally rebuilding but I still don’t fully trust them.

No just hindsight. Most people didn’t want to tank when we had Fred, Pascal, Barnes and Nurse. Probably had 3 potential all-stars and a good coach. Rebuilding was silly to most since we were too good to tank even injured. These was the reasons on my thread.

People kept saying we should have tanked yet they didn’t create these threads at that time. These people should have protested that season not this season. Show proof or it never happened.

Your sample size is a locked thread with 10 posts/14 votes. A large segment of this forum (myself included) wanted to start the rebuild last year, if not even sooner.

Tanking never works!

Except for the Spurs it seems.
Organization can be defined as an organized body of people with a particular purpose. Not random.

"But the Spurs didn't tank for Robinson!"

"But the Spurs didn't tank for Duncan!"

"But the Spurs were treadmilling before they lucked out into Wemby!"

Almost every champion/contender of the last 30 years tanked for their franchise cornerstone(s). You can count the teams that didn't tank on one hand, and even then it's grey (the Raptors traded three players they tanked for to build their championship core). It's by far and away the most effective team-building strategy (unless your team plays in LA or Miami).

Which team tanked in the last 10 years and got a championship as a result? This is a honest question, I don't know the answer.

Edit:
I know a lot of the OG superstars got their first championship with another team.

lol, I think it was shunned because it was less than a month into the season. We also now know we wouldn’t have landed Wemby because we wouldn’t have been bad enough.

What a lineup we fielded tonight. Watching them lose down the stretch to the horrible Wiz was ... satisfying I think's the word I'm looking for.

10 losses in a row is what you're after when you're tanking, good job Raps.

Imagine this board if we kept a player like Demar for 2 straight 30 win seasons after a first round playoff exit. Spurs weren't any quicker to pull the trigger on a tank than Masai.

Play in push during the Wemby draft, tank during a weak draft. Genius

He's a chucker, and an inconsistent one at that. He definitely should not be back. Dick and Ochai are the SG rotation going forward.
Nick Nurse recounting his first meeting with Kawhi:
“We could have gone forever. (Raptors management) kept knocking on the door and I was like, ‘A couple more minutes.’ Because we were really into it."

Tankers are a miserable bunch. Rooting for losing, understanding nothing about teambuilding, blaming and insulting everyone that doesnt agree or in case of the FO dont do what they want. The best part, tanking doesnt even work.
