Could have had Durant-OG-FVV-Siakam for a few fun playoff runs.

Instead we got 5 years of doing literally nothing and just now starting a rebuild trying to forcefeed Barnes as a franchise caliber guy.

raptors actually looked pretty good post-OG pre-Siakam trade....it was enjoyable for the few games we got to watch it

I think if Poetle doesn't get hurt, we turn the season around and Siakam doesn't get traded.

From the info that came out after the trade, he was getting moved no matter what. Masai was never going to max him.

You had dudes on here saying they would rather have Jerami Grant than Siakam or that Pascal was a fake All NBA player :nonono: :banghead:

No we could not have. OG/GTJ/Barnes was the salary it required.
What an absolute failure and disaster this franchise is, ran by one of the most incompetent front offices in the league.

Anyone with common sense knows siakam wasn't the problem. Trading Siakam wasn't even a bad decision it's when we traded him and as a result the garbage return

A combination of Thad/Otto/Boucher could have made up the OG salary. Stop it.

Would have been tough considering otto + boucher were recently signed and therefore ineligible to be traded at the time. By the time they were, there was no way we were giving Brooklyn more than what they got from Phoenix (Bridges / Johnson / 5 firsts).

So no - it was never feasible.

They were eligible to be traded January 15th and Durant was traded in February. Good lord man give it up.

we've already hired Darko in the off season. So playoffs wasn't happening regardless of the roster.

And our rumors of going after KD was in the summer - when they were ineligible to be traded.

But hey if you are Phoenix do you accept:

Barnes/GTJ/Thad/Boucher/Picks

OR

Bridges/Johnson/5 1st rounders

So unless you think we should have traded our entire draft future it was NEVER FEASIBLE. Siakam/KD/FVV/OG with no bench and no draft picks is a horrible place to be

Tradeable contracts and salary ballasts are only for realgm deflection arguments. Raptors dont actually use them.

Unless we draft another Jokic with one of indy's picks, this will go down as an all time worst trade ever in nba history.

So it wasn’t a salary issue and the trade could have been done without OG. Cleared that up.

Barnes was the most valuable asset in either package. A proven top 5 pick, RotY with star upside is far better than 26 year old Bridges, far out picks and a couple swaps. That’s the best return the Nets could have hoped for for a disgruntled KD at the time. The raptors wouldn’t have had to give up additional picks. Trent is also younger than both Cam/Mikal and probably have positive trade value. If Masai wanted Durant, we would have gotten him. He didn’t have the balls to do it and went for Poeltl instead. Funny that trade was still doable and we could have had FVV-OG-KD-Siakam-Poeltl which is insanely good.

:banghead:

We were in the discussion for KD in the summer when they were ineligible to be traded.

Also - if we trade all our picks for KD we are unable to get Poeltl.

KD was NEVER a realistic option. Especially on Jan 15 when we were 19-24 and trading away Barnes + all your future picks + additional salary would have resulted in no depth, no picks, and not even 5 startable players.

In your theroretical our SL would have been FVV/OG/Siakam/KD/Achiwua with a bench of Flynn, one of Thad/Boucher/Otto, Will Barton, Juancho, and Koloko?

Like it just wasn't a real option man.

The Pacers aren't really proven. The Bucks team without Giannis is play-in tier.

Kyrie is poetry in motion.

It's crazy the control he has over every movement he makes. I can't stand the arrogant & jaded part of his personality but damn he's just incredible to watch. He's not going off or anything lol but it just feels like every game there's a few plays he makes where you have to be in awe in the level of creativity & skill he has.

He's gonna have one of THE best career HL's ever, it's crazy what he does with the ball in his hands sometimes.
