We'll find out, I like them both to have better careers than Gradey even though he did show promise after a disastrous start.

I'm not saying this is you but I find a tendency on this board, in these types of discussions, to have the attitude of yeah but our guy will improve and those others won't.

Yep. Crazy how 23 is old now. That's what rookies used to be. I could see it becoming a trend, to draft a 3-4 year college player because they're mature and ready to contribute. Really get the benefit of the rookie contract. But at 23 I don't think it has to mean he won't learn and continue to improve, that he's finished developing. Maybe Gradey has more room to improve but I'm not sure he gets as good as Jaquez. Different types of players of course

I get why teams would rather take a shot on the younger kid but I think they err on that side a little too much. We can debate Jaquez's ceiling (which I do agree is limited) but at the end of the day he will have a very long and fruitful career, and played down the stretch in a road playoff game where they beat the best team in the league (record-wise). He's started, and closed, many games for them this season. Anytime you land a rotation player like that with anything later than a 10th pick, you've nailed the draft.

I can't avoid consuming Heat media and Jimmy and Bam absolutely love him. He's the perfect fit for that team.

celtics getting exposed by the heat yet again

Heat culture is amazing, especially considering Jimmy is not playing.

But this also comes down to the Celtics and how they are built. They are just a jump shooting team, and if they are not making their shots, they don't seem to have a way to get to the basket to score.

While the Celtics appear to have an easy path to the finals, they just don't seem like a team that can be trusted to get it done.
