It’s because there were no expectations to win. Even Bobby said the mood in the locker room was lighter after the trades went down.

The core really are those three... Barrett, Quigley and Barnes... problem is lack of talent around them.... and lack of depth....

Lack of a true #1 option as well. We don’t have a guy like Jalen Brunson who carries the team on his back.

Count me in as someone who wants to see RJ in that role offensively. I think he can grow into it.

Attitude will be different next season if we have a similar outcome. Guys will go into the summer thinking the season was bad because of the roster turnover. There will be expectations next season about being a playin team.

I’m hoping Quickley as well.

Realistically Scottie still has a ways to go in terms of scoring.

The exciting thing is all four core guys (BBQD) could potentially grow into great scorers on this team, and if that happens, the team is not relying on just one player to get it done, which makes them harder to defend at the end of the game.

This team has ways to go before having to really worry about that. It only becomes a real problem when you are trying to break into contender status and we are far away from that.

We did fine for a while with DeRozan as #1 option and the 3 core guys could reach that (and hopefully more) with internal growth. And maybe they can even trade for an upgrade if one becomes available if they manage to accrue enough talent, which we have yet to see and that needs to happen first.

RJ is an impressive human being at 23.

He's a great young vet for a developing team. I doubt his numbers remain where they are but we can just hope for the best. His commitment to better shooting and defense is nice to hear. I would prefer playing him in a position to succeed and then trading him when the time is right for a bigger forward that provides movement shooting and mid range scoring ability. I can't see RJ's game doing well in the playoffs with a lengthier and bigger team. He has similar shortcomings to DeRozan.

Crazy how it took his 3rd year for Scottie to finally talked about a vets impact on him like Temple. How it took his 3rd year to talk about his coach in glowing terms. I am so happy Fred and Nurse and Pascal are gone. No exaggeration but Scottie as an asset right now is worth more than Nurse/Fred/Pascal combined and ain't close. The vibes are back and it ain't a coincidence.

The team is bought in and like the coach. There’s clearly an understanding among the team that this year was a development year. Yeah losing sucks but they seem to know it’s part of the process.
not strong, only aggresive cuz the power ain't directed/ that's why, we are subjected to the will of the oppressive

A big part of the chemistry was getting a core that's similarly aged.

Building a good locker room was clearly a priority. I’ve really liked IQ and RJ’s attitude since coming here. Kelly has also been a pleasant surprise as well. It really feels like playing for the Raptors was a goal of his and he has finally achieved it. And Temple is clearly the vet they’ve been looking for; his interviews on the Raptors show were some of the best I’ve heard in a long time - articulate, down to earth, with presence.

Let’s hope it translates to winning. And I still want them to ditch that chain, way too cringey.

RJ seems to have really good leadership qualities. He does get on his teammates quite a bit out there as well I notice. Looking forward to him and Scottie kind of taking on that role next season.
