Barnes needs to show he's better than Haliburton next season. He needs to have higher scoring expectations as a consistent 25+ a game. The passing and defense is great but he needs to show he's the clear #1 on this team and others.

No Kawhi. Wonder if he declined or they didn’t pick him since he’s too unreliable.

They’ll coast to the semis. But I agree anything can happen in a single game KO. Serbia, Spain, Germany, France, Canada all capable of pulling off an upset. Team USA still overwhelming favourites though.

Not a lot of young guys. Would’ve expected them to try to get some more young guys involved since they’re the future of the national team. Half this team will likely be retired by the 2028 Olympics

Still pisses me off that Embiid is playing for them. He fills the only true weakness they had on paper.

Anything can still happen in a 1 game knockout scenario though. Can't wait.

Brunson has had a better season than Haliburton.
There goes my hero. Watch him as he goes.

If we come Silver to this team’s Gold, we should be very happy. This USA team is on the cusp of retirement, and our core team has a decade more with the current guys.

The only way to beat this team is probably by outplaying their backcourt with superb shooting. We do have that talent, but no one is beating this team at the 3-4-5 spots.

They’re stacked but anything can happen in a KO style playoffs. Just need a bad quarter of shooting and you could be out. Heck, Spain gave them a run for their money in 08-12 even though they were stacked back then.

Think they need more passing and ball handling more than they need another scorer.

Embiid joining Team USA is like KD going to the Warriors in 2016. Doesn't Cameroon have a team? Man, if France had Gobert, Wemby and Embiid up front, with two playing at any one time, that would be fun.

Sure, but Hali has not been the same since the injury. He's crazy for not taking the summer off to rehab.

I'm sure they'll just replace him if he's still injured.

Right now, Brunson playing at higher level than he is. Donovan Mitchell also could have been considered for the spot.

Trying to figure out who starts for that team would be hard to do. Embiid is the easiest selection. I’m guessing curry gets the nod. Booker at the 2? Maybe ant for the defence? Then, you could really go with any 2 of Tatum, KD, lebron and kawhi, and wouldn’t want to have to decide based on politics for that one.

LeBron is pretty clearly going to be starting on any Olympic team.

Curry and LeBron are no brainers.

I doubt Kawhi will be starting, he won't want to play heavy minutes.

He did. But the team was so much better with haliburton on the floor last summer. It was noticeable.

It doesn’t really matter who starts. The core guys all get 20-30 mpg. Kawhi will be a regular in Paris, dude is a top 3 player on that team.
