Great opportunity for us to be a cap space team to take on contracts + picks. I think we try to set ourselves up from that come draft day.

Has anyone put together a decent list of candidates that might move? It'd be nice to put some names to it.

We should sell GState on a final run and offer to take on Wiggins for Trent Jr. If we can get their 2026 1st it would probably be in the lottery. I also think we can turn Wiggins into a positive asset and sell him later to a contender. Keeping Wiggins for 2 years to tank and rebuild is our best investment. When you see a team like the Kings lose in the play in there's a realization that we won't be competing for a while.

Any team that deep into the tax will probably have to move players.

Here's the list of teams currently in the luxury tax

Sheesh the Suns tax bill is insane lol.

Suns traded all their stuff for KD and Beal. Same with Wolves for Gobert. Would Celtics move on from White to take back less money? It's really only Suns and Celtics that are projected over the 2nd apron. Maybe Nuggets too just barely.

It sounds like more guys are going to move around than just because of financial contraints. PG is there. Sixers may look very different. I'm just having a hard time imagining potential deals involving Raptors guys.

They should have gone after Siakam or OG with Keegan. Although the leaks made it sound like neither would have re-signed with them.

Said it elsewhere but Bruce Brown + McDaniels for Wiggins + the right amount of assets to make it worth the Wiggins contract. I think Moody + 1st Rounder would be perfect.

Like RJ was, Wiggins is currently seen as a bad contract but the man will only makes 2M more than Bruce Brown. He's had some family issues so maybe playing closer to his family and one motivation of playing in Toronto can make him return to the guy he was during the 2022 Warriors Championship run.

Even if he doesn't, his wing defense can still be helpful in the starting lineup and we will get those additional assets for the trouble. These are the type of chances we will need to take this offseason because we truly don't have much to lose lol.

It’s a mistake to see Wiggins anything more than he is right now. He is an above average role player. If you’re happy with that kind of contribution with his contract then sure. It’s a 4 year commitment.

His type of skillset is exactly what this team needs. We've been talking about a point of attack defender to allow Barnes to be a helpside defender in the paint.

His contract is another 3 years and not 4, plus we'd be getting young talent and/or picks for the trouble. Just think it's a homerun type move considering the pieces going the other way would be Bruce Brown and Mcdaniels who aren't part of this teams future anyways.

Why are Warriors paying to get off Wiggins's contract? All they have to do is let Klay walk and they're already close to the tax line.

Because it's already been reported that the Warriors are exploring trades for Wiggins and also because Klay is Klay man... Warriors would prefer to keep him Curry and Green together if its possible. Wiggins doesn't have that type of love for obvious reasons.

29 now, would be risky to acquire him. Key factor would be why the periodic poor performances and absences from team.
