parker playing the pg upping his trade value?

Post#1 » by orangutooth » Mon Jan 19, 2009 8:20 pm

parker is an expiring contract that can play the pg position and is one of the best 3 point shooters in the league. imo he ought to be very attractive to some teams that are hurting for help in these areas. because he's an expiring and a veteran this includes teams both in and not in the playoffs. since parker appears reasonably able to push the ball, i could see a team like the suns wanting him. since he can shoot the 3 and play the point, i could see the celtics wanting him too.

now i know what you're thinking. gut reaction would be that teams really don't see parker as a true pg but in these past few games, he really hasn't looked that uncomfortable at all. you know last year we had both parker and delfino who could play pg and yet we ran juan dixon and darrick murray all those games when tj went down. we could've got liek 3-4 more wins.
Sam wasn't the solution, but he wasn't the problem either

Or maybe they are determining if AP can fulfill Solomons role - assuring that Banks is a backup 2 only after the trade :D

I think the idea is to show that Jose is overrated and that Parker can get numbers playing the point just the same. With this, we can trade Jose for a good sg.

You are right, but trading Parker may be the only way of getting out of Banks' contract.

Solomon is officially useless

Parker can be a combo guard

we still need a real starting SG

Really glad it was decided that he would handle the ball for these past two games.
He has shown how versatile he is.
Once Calderon comes back, AP can really be useful depending on the matchups.

I've always said he's capable of being more than just a spot-up shooter for us. He's so much better when the ball gets in his hands, he has better rhythm on his jumper and he makes good decisions out on the floor. It's pretty obvious that whoever plays the point for our team will rack up assists because of how many shooters we have.
