VC on the market - Should we make a call?

Post#1 » by chargerxthirty » Fri Feb 13, 2009 5:12 pm

As is very obvious, VC is on the market. We all know and love VC. Well, some of us hate him...

I cannot help but ask the great people of this forum. Would you want Vince Carter?

Should we at least make a call on him? Would you trade back for VC.

Heres my view:

Sam Mitchell is gone. We have JO who can make a playoff push combined with Jose/Bargs/VC

I think Bosh is expendable because he is gonna bounce in 2010 anyways.

My proposition:

Chris Bosh + Jason Kapono to NJ

Vince Carter, Brook Lopez, 1st round pick + any kind of filler. to TOR.

Feel free to vote on the poll and share suggestions.

I think there should be a new rule in the terms-of-service that bans posters who propose trading Bosh for VC.

Why would you ship out Bosh for an aging Vince carter and his contract? Sure I want Vince here, but isnt the whole point to try to win now with Bosh+Vince paired? That trade makes no sense for both teams and they both say no.

I'd love to have him but we don't have the pieces to offer for him.

Why exactly? The season is practically done. If anything we should be trying to get younger not older.

because Brook Lopez is looking like hes going to be an excellent pro and you also get a 1st rounder.
Plus I think Vince and JO will take this team furhter than we've ever been. Especially with pieces like Jose and Bargs still in tact.

I think we should make the call, but only if they want JO.

I still make the Marion deal,
and then the rest of the Vince aspect really does depend on what the Nets want.

If the words, Bosh, Bargnani, Calderon, 1st round pick, are raised then we politely decline. However if the Nets are simply looking to get out from under Carters contract to tool up for 2010 then sure.

If they take expiring and smaller contracts, by all means if they want real assets then there are younger guys on equally bad contracts that can be had for expiring that I would rather have.

How does this make sense for NJ? So Bosh and Devin can play one year together, then Bosh will certainly bolt? So NJ can throw away their future (Brook+1st rounder) for one year of Bosh+ Devin + scrubs?

We should trade Joey for Lebron, it certainly makes sense for us!

any deal involving bosh for carter as the principles would be an absolute PR disaster.
