I don't know about y'all, but I really miss the voice of the Raptors! There's definitely something missing without hearing him boom in, especially during intros.

Anybody know what the scoop on Herbie is? Is he ok?

Whatever is up w him I hope he gets better soon. that said, i hope the raps get a new game announcer - I can't stand his voice and his pronunciation. I feel like I've been tolerating him for 14 years.

I'm sorry but he is one of the worst PA announcers in the league. His pronunciations are terrible (RAPTORES) and he's a boring dude that does not try to get the fan hyped up. The new guy is good... he adds more energy and he's more interesting to listen to

New guys are always "better" because it's something refreshing. Herbie would be cooler if he came up with some new sayings and mixed it up. He does have a good voice.

Probably the most important thing is WINNING. So much easier to hype the crowd when the team is winning than when they're getting blown out.

I am not sure about that,
While I have not heard every PA announcer in the league, of the dozen or so I have had the pleasure of taking in, I think we underrate Herbie.

Well the sub wasn't any better, that's for sure. Yesterday in the intros, he said Bargnani was from Spain.

I think that was intended for Jose, so that maybe then he will pass the ball more to Bargs, a "fellow countrymen" :lol:

Herbie is a good PA announcer, but in all honesty... his act has even worn a little thin on me.

I like changing it up and hearing something new, but the fill-in guy is junk.

I personally think it would be cool if we had like a Rasta Man doing the PA Announcer, that would be awesome cause it would be different than anywhere else and he would being a different feel to the game with his calls.
