OT: Return of Andrew Bynum

Post#1 » by 7_ace_7 » Sat Apr 11, 2009 6:10 pm

I'm not sure if this was discussed or if any of you follow the Lakers, but Bynum has had an impressive return:

16 and 7 against Denver
13 and 6 against Portland

I guess those playmates did more for him than any doctor could

So much talent on that team.

I didn't think he would come back this fast especially from the injury. With him back, it's going to be Lakers in the finals again. BOS, ORL or CLE won't win against that team. They're just too deep and have an amazing starting 5 with Bynum back.

He's one of the most overrated players IMO, he's a good centre, but doesn't deserve all the hype he gets. The Lakers got destroyed last year in the finals, having Bynum back will certainly make them more competitive but it won't guarantee them the ring.

I expected more from him, after his visit to the Playboy Mansion.

This guy has been in the league four seasons, and is producing worse numbers then Kevin Love is.

Sorry, I am not impressed at all.

If he was anywhere except LA, nobody would even know what a "bynum" is.

Are you sure about that? Having Bynum will help the Lakers immensely. He's the big centre they didn't have last year in the finals and he will create a lot of havoc down there against whoever they face. It moves Gasol over to PF and lets him do his thing instead of worrying about having to bang with the other teams center. I don't even remember who started in place for them last year, was it Mihm? Regardless, it moves another guy to the bench and makes their bench stronger and gives them arguably the best starting 5 in the league. It's not about hype, my point is it makes the Lakers that much better having their starting C back in for them.

He's a very good center, and he will help the Lakers immensely.
It was just unfortunate that he got injured just as he was breaking out.
And about him not producing, it's hard to put up the numbers when you have teammates like Kobe and Gasol.

Lakers were gonna go the finals with or without him, but this definitely makes them the favorite for the championship IMO.

He's still only 21, and actually has Love beat in every category except rebounding and FT%.
And again, him playing in LA can go both ways.
