Prime Time Sports Raptor Round table

Post#1 » by bthrawn » Tue Jul 14, 2009 1:38 am

At about the 55-57 minute mark Grange, McCown and someone from the Post were discussing the raptors and the makeup of the team after the Hedo signing. They discussed what they think Bryan's vision is. Bob doesn't like the make up the other 2 like the make up.

Sorry my recap skills are lacking.

Not sure if this was it, but I was channel flipping today and McCowan was on Sportsnet. I don't know what they were talking about, but he said he didn't think Dwight Howard and Chris Bosh would work on the same team. Ugh.

I love Bobcat, until he starts talking about basketball.

He has absolutely no idea about present day NBA stats. In the first hour of today's show, he was saying (in all seriousness) that since the Raps have no defense, they should shoot 80% to come on top. Bruce Arthur (National Post) gently corrected him saying that a team shooting an average of 50% would top the NBA. In a previous show last season, he felt that a center grabbing 15 rebounds is "average".

I remember he called Dwayne Wade... Dennis Wade (something like that) completely off.

Bob knows all just ask.

Listen to the co-hosts chuckle, cower and differ to his every whim.

He "tells" guys who know he is full of it and they essentially get under the desk and "bob the cat."

How does this guy have a sports show... he doesn't know anything about Bosh's game, he doesn't know much about the team, but yet has a lot of bad things to say...
What i agree with is..the raps are not a run and gun team...

Mccowan knows a lot of basketball history but he knows nothing about the current nba. Atleast he can have a decent basketball conversation and not bring up hockey in every sentence.

i dont mind listening to bob, he plays the devils advocate at times with people who are addicted to the fumes of high hope.

Some people are optimistic, some are pessimistic and few are realistic.
