I personally prefer Tosh. He was the more political one in the group and certainly more confrontational - whereas Bob tried to please everyone, Tosh would not compromise his intergrity. He paid the price and recieved many a police beating for what he was doing and saying - culminating with his death from a robbery orchestrated by a man that Tosh had previously helped.
Without Tosh, Bob Marley and the Wailers would have just been another okay ska band - It was Tosh who got Bob into Rastafarian culture and beliefs and more importantly it was Tosh who helped teach Marley how to play guitar.
You speak the truth Yuri!
Agree with everything except the part that the Wailers would have only been another ska band, because Bob was obviously very talented and Bunny Wailer was no spring chicken himself.
People like Bob only come around once in a while and even though Tosh got the rough end of the stick, it doesn't mean that Bob Marley wasn't destined to be the an Icon.
Bob Marley and Tosh were contrasts and Bunny Wailer was the balance.
Bob was peaceful, loving, unifying, inspirational, and such. Kind of like Ghandi.
Peter was ALMOST the opposite, very confrontational, and more of a revolutionary like Che.
