Rudy Gobert continues good play.....

Post#1 » by tleikheen » Wed Jul 30, 2014 10:21 pm

Against Belgium he goes 5/5 from the field and 6/7 in free throws...toss in 2 blocked shots.
So far in his play he has been highly efficient .This should keep the minutes steady throughout the FIBA exhibition games to the World Cup play.....Nice start

6/7 from the line is great. I don't see any reason he can't become a 70% free throw shooter. He's got touch and good form.

^Aye, and he still has a lot of capacity to learn. He's still so young and raw and is still pretty effective.

Sometimes I think we as fans look at when a player enters the the league as a time frame for growth instead of their age.

Rudy Gobert born June 26 1992

Derrick Favors born July 15 1991

I agree it seems as though Rudy has a ton of tapped potential. But it is weird many, most, some, etc of us assume Favors has reached who can be and won't grow anymore. I admit I am guilty of this same line of thought at times. But I think if Rudy can still grow a ton so can Favors. Which is good news.

And Gobert wants to get better. That makes it even more exciting what his ceiling can be. He is a serious player.

I think he is hungrier than any of our big men. Start him with Favors.

What game are you talking about? I went on FIBA.com, don't see any games scheduled these days.

From a french article

...

Heurtel MVP, Gobert intensity at the end of the game

...

[In the 4th QT]Though we thought they were dead, french big men raised their intensity level on defense and their fighting spirit at the best time. Rudy Gobert (7 pts, 5 rbds et 2 blks), who had a rough game from the start, multplied blocks and points in the paint (especially with a powerful slam) to wake up everybody

Gobert
Final statline for Gobert according to French TV Canal+Sport: 13Pts, 12Rbs, 3Bs... they chose him MVP for the game! Was 5/6 from FT which is impressive once again!
