My vote goes to Bryon Russell. Integral part of great Jazz teams: his three point shooting and defense were essential to their success. This is not a slam at Thurl Bailey, I thought he was really great for the Jazz, too. I just felt like Russell's defensive contributions put him over the edge.

BRuss is my vote too. Good defense, hit the open 3, blue collar guy and integral part of our championship runs.

I can't help but wonder what would have happened if Sloan had given minutes to Russell sooner. In retrospect it seems crazy that he played David Benoit over him for two years (94-95 and 95-96).

I will take Bailey. Russell is a player that is easily replaceable (plenty of 3 and D players) even if he was well liked. Bailey is a 16-20ppg guy coming off the bench. Replace Russell with Bailey and add a similar player in free agency and the Jazz probably had a better chance at a championship than if you replace Bailey with a 3 and D guy and then hope you can find a good bench player. Russell should be in the Harpring/Milsap level.

If it didn't affect the already voted for #13 spots, I'd ask for a one-time chance to switch my vote after the deadline. But if that were granted and Bailey got #12, I wouldn't know where the #13 Bailey voters would go - to Russell, Green, or Millsap.

In the 1st post it said it was going to be a 48 hour thread. We were having 3 days per thread but people wanted it to be shorter, since we're getting a ton of action in the 1st two days and almost none in the 3rd. Would you like to go back to the older format?
