Top 25 [2015 list]
#1 Karl Malone

#5 Deron Williams
#6 Jeff Hornacek
#7 Andrei Kirilenko
#8 Mark Eaton
#9 Darrell Griffith
#10 Carlos Boozer

#13 Paul Millsap
#14 Rickey Green

#19 Jeff Malone
#20 Greg Ostertag

Please, when casting a vote make it clear and start your post with "my vote goes to..." or something similar. Makes it easier to count. This thread will be open for 48 hours. If there is a tie in the end, we'll have a 48 hour of run-off votes, where you may choose between the most voted players.

Kelley looks like the fron runner, but Truck Robinson and Favors might have a word to say.

Feel free to make a case for any of our players!

I swear I see the list, how many votes for current number, and then cast my vote which is obviously the winning player, the next day I go back and other players win. I could have swore Kelley won Jeff Malone, then I could have swore he won Greg Ostertag.

I don't have a problem with any player getting the spot. What annoys me a bit is that nobody actually made a good argument for Jeff Malone, for example, over Kelley or Ostertag.

That's because they don't win someone, they beat someone. Just kidding, I've just seen that said over and over and over by some here and it's incorrect. Not a big deal.

To be fair, you do say things like I'm going with X over Y and later explain why Z is your pick. Maybe you mean Z > X > Y, but with your stream of conscience posting style and coming back to a vote after someone has compiled it from your X over Y statement, there's going to be confusion unless you state that you are changing your vote or that your vote is for Z.

Well I see a pick is 1 up on the others, then I vote, leaving thinking no way they can be beat, the like 3 times in a row it happened.

We got 5 picks left, but is anyone else with me in doing an honorary 26-30 for the players who didn't make it?

My vote is Bob Hansen. He was with us for a ton of playoffs, bench and starter, and was with us a long time.

I'm voting for Kelley again here. Quite honestly I felt he deserved the spot over Jeff and Ostertag... so here is my vote again.

I don't see what kind of case Bob Hansen can have over Rich Kelley and maybe even Favors.

Why Kelley over Jeff Malone? His best season the team won 26 games and I can't vote for Ostertag, I just can't.

Kelley was a part of the NOJ teams, and we all know we didn't have great teams back then. It didn't go against the leader, Pistol Pete, so it shouldn't go that much against Kelley too, since he actually played his role well.

Even on losing teams, his ORTG/DRTG relations look better than Jeff's.

Played 7 seasons for us.

Jeff provided scoring and not much of anything else, and even his scoring wasn't really very efficient.

And why can't you vote for Ostertag?

My vote is for Favors. Statistically a better player than Kelley, has played almost as long for the Jazz, and is still improving. Also far superior to Hansen.

Favors
11.7 PPG 7.5 RPG 1.1 APG 54.8 ts% 13 WS/48 and 19 PER 108(104 ORTG/DRTG

Kelley
8.1 PPG 8 RPG 2.5 APG 57.1ts% 15.9 PER 12.7 WS/48 15.9 PER 104/99 ORTG/DRTG

I don't see a big gap stat wise. That 99 DRTG is really impressive for Kelley.

Also Kelley played more seasons with us, so he has the longevity to back him up (so far).

DRTG doesn't mean that Kelley is a better defender. It is just a culmination of stats that people think indicate defensive efficiency, but does not account for a lot of things. The gap isn't large, I understand the longevity argument...I just think Favors is better, and a bigger part of our success than Kelley was. But, to each his own. I just think that Favors deserves to be on the list.
