Why didn't we draft Rodney Hood since we needed shooters?

Like I said, there's a handful of mistakes in among a shimmering collection of diamonds.

If we'd drafted Hood there's almost no way he would make a difference this upcoming season. He's almost certainly not going to jump past Lamb or PJIII in the rotation. At least Lamb showed he can be a competent NBA player for half a season (before his slump and Caron). PJIII looked great in summer league as his 3 point shooting seems to be coming around. He looked very confident in his role.

Rookies rarely play significant roles on title contenders. Besides, as others have pointed out, McGary may have been gone by 29 (Hornets rumor) so the discussion is pointless. By pick 29 it's a crapshoot. I didn't like the Huestis pick, but there's no point in judging it now or pretending that any picks after Huestis were a sure thing either.
