Mann has been our MVP so far in summer league. He looks like a completely different player.

I think he sees the writing on the wall. He is playing for his NBA life honestly, Wallace showed up and hit 6 3Pters and played solid defense that plays Mann's same place on the floor. OKC may see him as expendable or whatever.

He's a 3rd year player in SL and is a crafty shot creator. He should be doing well. I'm glad he's got some shots and good moves to dig OKC offense out of a hole.
Cheers

I know it’s just summer league, but I don’t think Chet has the fast twitch muscle fiber to be the kind of ball handling big he wants to be. I don’t think it’s a skill issue. Generally, little dudes just pick his pocket because he’s so tall and slow.

Dieng is looking much more assertive.

I don’t think he’ll ever be Durant but a lot of it also looks to me like he’s being indecisive when he attacks the basket. He has no moves.

Keynotae Johnson is the kind of player we needed to be drafting in the second round years ago, instead of hamidou diallo.

He’s looked good when taking it straight to the basket. The spins and pausing make it easy for the defense.

This is why I’ve been a bit of a believer in Dieng. The tools he has are amazing if he can develop.

Dieng does look much better kj looks like he will be a pretty nice player for sure. He was predicted to be a 1st rounder until the heart thing.

He scored a bunch without the ball in his hands for very long. He had the ball for like a third of the time that butler did, but when he had it, he went to the hole or was getting it off a cut or in transition. I think that has to be his game with so many mouths to feed on this team.

It was nice to see Chet play like a big for the most part. Giddey is going to be throwing a lot of lobs to that fella.

Also, JRE is done.

Was Cason good enough outside of shooting?

I like Butler...wonder if he will sign with another team since we renounced to his rights or we can give him a two way contract.

As a card carrying Dieng hater he was fully in his bag tonight and looked like a young paul george. He's been on a tear since game 2 of SL

Chet needs to find a rhythm on offense real bad. I think his J will come around and be a solid weapon and it's clear defenders bite on his fake. He gets by his first man with no resistance but he gets bumped so quickly and easily if a double or help comes. Think as the team finds chemistry with him they'll do better hunting the right mismatches for him to catch in the post and he'll operate a little less out of triple threat or as the pnr handler.

I think he will look a lot different with giddey feeding him. I also think when he is playing with 4 other legit offensive threats in a 5 out, he’s going to get a lot of easy buckets at the rim. He’s a big that can hit a jumper or drive straight to the rim. That’s the extent of his bag right now. On this team, there is a ton of opportunity for him to score in that role if he accepts it.

The less Chet handles the ball the better

these are scrimmages. chet is fooling around. he's not going to be breaking down defenders from the 3pt line in real games on our nba team. come on. the only minor nitpick i have with chet in summer league is that all his jumpers have been short. i wouldn't even care about %'s on such a small sample of attempts (like, ousmane dieng 10-23 from three doesn't matter at all, either). but the manner he is missing is hopefully just lack of conditioning and not related to some physical issue resulting from his foot injury. aside from that i think he's been fine on both ends.

and aside from chet i'm not sure there's anything else to get excited / down about. summer league is not real basketball. ousmane dieng has appeared confident in blue games, too. nothing he's doing in SLC or vegas has changed my opinion of him.

Yeap. It’s summer league , try what you want try to expand on your game and showcase more of the same that will get you minutes.

Just don’t be the ball hog of the team .
