Too bad... Byars just never panned out, it seems.

personally I thought he looked alright in preseason. I think it probably game down to a decision to go with Lucas due to the local ties.

Maybe so with Lucas. With Byars, he's probably going back overseas or will hit up D- Leagues for a while until some team takes a look a him.
