Rules

1. Snake draft.

2. You can draft coaches any time you want.

3. 14 rounds - 13 players and 1 coach

4. Played using modern rules.

5. You are drafting a player's 3 year window (There is an injury grace where you can pick a year window if there was on injury in that span), and voting will be weighted towards their peak season.

6. No enforced rules on drafting time limit so far, but we will figure something out if this goes too slow.

I took an informal poll of all the posters in the room with me. It was agreed that if skyhook isn't here by 9:30, his pick should be switched with the 16th as a penalty. Just throwing that out there as a possibility.

Okay, so it's my turn now...

It's between Kevin Garnett and Oscar Robertson for me. Jerry West is the third possibility.

I'll take KG. I think you can easily build a good team around him if you're at least a moderately competent GM.

West and Erving are my favorite players here, but the Big Ticket seems like a slightly better choice than both (and better than Oscar). He's just a ridiculously versatile player, great defensive anchor, and I don't have to worry if he'll translate well to the modern game, unlike Oscar, Jerry or even Julius.

Taking a #1 offensive option (like the perimeter players that I just mentioned) was very tempting (especially Oscar, who's a great scorer AND playmaker), but that's what I did the last we had an all-time fantasy draft (I took Kobe). This time, I'll pick a bigman, and a defensive anchor. We'll see what happens.
