Right? I tried, but obviously to no success. I included the 'we've talked about tennis here since 2005!' line as an attempt to preempt the locking :D

None of ESPN's analysts pick the top women's seed to win the thing. Err, that says something. I think it would be fantastic if Azarenka won, though. Her and Kvitova in the final would be great. Wozniacki too, of course, if she can get over the hump.

Time to complain about the lock of up and coming American players. Heres hoping Madison Keys can make a splash. Also Anyone know how Jack Sock has done since the US Open. I thought he looked promising there but don't see him in the draw here.

Verdasco versus Tomic will be starting soon. Should be a great match.

Del Potro lost the 1st set 6-2 but came back and won the second set 6-1 and is already up a break in the 3rd.

He's been doing okay. I think he recently won a minor title of some sort. He decided to skip the AO this year to train and prepare for first hard court season of the year - looking to make an impact on the masters tour. I was disappointed, as well, to hear that he wouldn't be in Melbourne, but I understand the reasoning behind it.

Tomic just took the third set to extend his match with Verdasco. I just turned it on...

Tomic up a double break now in the fourth set. Barring a big comeback here, Tomic will have all of the momentum entering the deciding set.

Pretty good fifth set. Tomic fends off potential break, despite some errors, and forces this one further.

ETA: BTW, Verdasco always manages to find himself in these types of matches. It never fails.

Verdasco loves 5-setters and usually seems to come out on top.

Kimmy! I hope I can stay up for the match - I'm getting pretty tired, though. Might have to DVR it.

Wow, great comeback by Tomic. He looked done to me after he lost the 2nd set.

I think Tomic is the real thing. I don't know if he's a future slam winner or just a future top 10-15 very good player, but he has talent and he has the competitive drive to win a lot of matches.

As a bonus, I enjoyed him taking out Verdasco, who didn't endear me to himself after his comments towards Raonic last year.

He was a dominant junior player so he has the pedigree to be a good one.

Wow, Stosur down a set and a break against Cirstea. Haven't heard from her in a while.

Aaaaaand Murray/Harrison just played a 42 shot rally. Murray is trying to fend off Harrison, who is looking to take the first set on a break.

The German kind of choked in the 4th set, he was plying pretty well.

I was fairly impressed with Roddick yesterday. Normally I hate his ground game but he was moving Robin Hasse around the court pretty well. Looked much better than the last handful of times I've watched him.

So...watched the Bucks rather than tennis. Time for that to stop.
