No real hiccups today. Federer, Serena, Ivanovic and Hewitt all safely through. Could be interesting tomorrow, I suppose we should see Roddick coming off an injury and defending champ, Venus should play too.

I'll be looking forward to Sania Mirza's game too...

I'm rooting for Nadal to win this. He's come closer to beating Federer each year, and this year he has a great chance. I think he's the only player on tour that gets under Roger's skin, and another grand slam final between these two would be another interesting and hopefully classic match.

Happy trails, Djokovic. Safin gets him in straight sets 6-4, 7-6(3), and 6-2. Safina's final at Roland Garros might have lit a fire under him. With Djokovic gone, Federer's ride just got a little easier.

Yeah, right after I saw the draw I knew this one was coming. Safin was just too strong and physical and put together a nice game. If he stays sane and in rhythm, he could be more of a problem to Federer than Djokovic.

wow! i have to say this is shocking, djokovic was having a very solid year. BUT safin is a great player and a great grass player, so it also shouldn't be that big of a surprise.

i don't know if federer is happy or not about this.

I'm officially asking Andy Roddick to stop embarassing the United States, and retire from professional tennis.

and now maria!!! i feel she's way too relaxed, like she doesn't care as much anymore.

both #3 seeds have been sent home too early.

Although most wouldn't really care much, James Blake just like Roddick is in danger of falling off the radar completely with another early loss. Just when everyone thought he revived his career, he's down to mediocrity again. :nonono:

wow... again... shocking... ivanovic looked pretty solid, but i think that the game before her elimination was an alarm for her game and couldn't recover.

should we expect more surprises?

if jankovic wins could she become #1?
