Ok, so I will be the commish of next game, if everyone is ok with that.
I'll put signups up after Christmas sometime, and it will be back to normal, a more traditional 2 weeks trading, 1 week draft/FA, 1 week trading, 1 week writeups/rankings.
I can't do it all by myself, if someone could help with either FA or draft, that would help a ton. Last time I ran it, I did most of the stuff by myself, and I'm not sure I can do that again.
I also will be looking for a panel of about 2-3 people to help decide on the 2 major FAs (Deron and Dwight, since Paul picked up his option) and to help decide draft order. I'd like these people to be guys outside of the game.

I'm happy to help make sure the draft runs smoothly, can also help with some FA decisions if needed.

Ok, if you could run the draft, that would be great. I might talk to some people outside of the game to help be agents and/or help with rankings.

Maybe you can be on the panel to help decide on the draft order and to decide where the top 2 FAs go. I'm looking for a few vets to help with that, so if you want to, you can be on that panel.

Re: New GM A Team Ideas
Just thought of something to throw out there.
What if we kinda simulated a season feeling that prevented teams from playing on just value?
So heres my idea. Every few days, have someone(s) outside of the game rank everyone based on talent (like we do for the draft). Then assign a win value each time they rank. So for each time, it would look something like this:
Teams ranked 1-3 get a record of 9-1
Teams ranked 4-6 get a record of 8-2
Teams ranked 7-9 get a record of 7-3
Teams ranked 10-12 get a record of 6-4
Teams ranked 13-15 get a record of 5-5
Teams ranked 16-18 get a record of 4-6
Teams ranked 19-21 get a record of 3-7
Teams ranked 22-24 get a record of 2-8
Teams ranked 25-27 get a record of 1-9
Teams ranked 27-29 get a record of 0-10
Which is all 30 teams.
If we do that say 4 times during the course of the game before the draft, then each team will have gone through 40 "games". Then maybe at draft time, do one final ranking that has more weight (IE counting as 20 games instead), then determine the draft order from the overall rankings throughout the "year".
Idk if this is a great idea or a bad one, it just popped into my head, would love some feedback.

Not a bad idea, but you're assuming that all 30 GMs have kept their roster pages up to date and that hasn't happened ever.

Its not a bad idea . Maybe people keep thier rosters up to date maybe not. They get feedback as to how well they are doing but the draft IMO is not a big problem. The area of most contention and bad feelings is Free Agency but that was not a big issue this time.

Re: New GM A Team Ideas
Next game instead of Tiers I would further seperate Free Agency into these searching for certain opportunity these wishing to to get paid so total bidding.
Example
Most RFA try to get paid. Guys with breakout yrs try to get paid.
Plus original teams get an extra day or so to Sign and trade or Resign.
Top ones Like a Kris Huphries get longer than just 24 hrs
Older with Rings
Ray Allen, KG, Opportunity with criteria written out Like West Coast Preference.

i think the idea is a good one as well. we'll just have to stay on guys to keep their pages updated. there are always guys who want to take over teams; a big problem, imo, is trying to figure out a trade with someone whose page is incomplete. i say, if your roster page isn't edited before you make a trade, the trade doesn't count. if your roster page isn't updated before the draft, you may lose your spot to pick. and if your roster is incomplete before FA starts, all your offers are invalid.
people will update their pages if these are the rules. if not, they can be replaced.
also, like luke and Dan said in our current discussion thread, big name FAs shouldn't be traded, at least for that calander year (or some point decided on before the game).

this is a good idea too.
also, have every team pick a direction and either stick to it, or get a direction change approval so your team can be put into the right category when ranking teams. ie, a team going for a high draft pick should get the number one pick if they do the best job of rebuilding or downgrading the lineup to tank, IF that's your goal.
