Phoenix Sends:
Markieff Morris - $2,005,560
Hakim Warrick - $4,000,000
Lazar Hayward - $1,174,080
2013 PHX 2nd
Total - $7,179,940

Atlanta Sends:
Martell Webster - $5,712,000
DeJuan Blair - $1,054,000
Total - $6,766,000

Salaries work.

Phoenix absolutely hates to see Morris go. This trade marks the complete breakup of the original PHX roster - and there was a reason that we hung onto Morris for so long - but we needed to make moves for our long term success and this helps us do that.

Oh, and we LOVE DeJuan Blair. He will be an instrumental part of this teams future success.

Nice dealing ATL!

Nice easy, great deal.

We had Markieff on our list of 4 pf's that we wanted. Why 4? Because it sounds exclusive.

We loved Blair. Ideally, we would have kept him forever, but we did have two concerns: his knees, and the fact that he will be unrestricted after his bargain contract ends. In the end we had to have a pf that we felt comfortable would be here long term, and we hope that is Markieff.

We will miss the salary flexibility cutting Webster would have given, but the 2nd is nice.

PDX and ORL have a trade to annouce.

PDX outgoing:
Stephen Curry $0
Devin Harris $8,500,000
Kwame Brown $6,750,000
Derrick Favors $4,443,360
total: $19,693,360

ORL outgoing:
Dwyane Wade $15,691,000
Glen Davis $6,300,000
Quentin Richardson $2,446,200
total: $24,437,200

*works with the 1.25 rule

Confirmed. We learned that depth doesn't mean as much as star power in the playoffs and are planning on building a team that can contend with anyone out there. Wade is our closer and primary/secondary facilitator.

#83 Atlanta and Orlando

Atlanta sends 2013 Atlanta 2nd, MArshawn Brooks for Duhon and rights to Lilliard.

Salary stuff:
Brooks: 1,160,040, Duhon 3,250,000. Atlanta uses $3,493,020 from Trade 68. Look for Orlando to record a TPE, possibly by taking Brooks with an exiting TPE and thus generating a bigger TPE = 3,250,000.

Reason for Atlanta: Duhon, obviously.

Duhon is being absorbed by ATL with cap space, Brooks is being absorbed by me, ORL, with the rest of the brandon bass TPE which i had left after using some of it to absorb courtney lee.

The Brooklyn Nets and Portland Trailblazers have a late-night BLOCKBUSTER DEAL to announce:

The Nets will send reigning MVP Derrick Rose and skilled big Luis Scola (both mini-amnestied) to Portland for All-World SG/SF Dwyane Wade and 20/10 waiting to happen Paul Milsap (mini-amnestied).

We do this to try and shake up a roster that took us all the way to the finals but fell shy of the Superfriends up in Seattle. Good dealing.

BKLYN Sends:
Derrick Rose - $10,506,632
Luis Scola - $4,408,207
~$14,914,839

PDX Sends:
Dwyane Wade - $15,691,000
Paul Milsap - $3,103,435 (upon 7b amnesty)
~$18,794,435

Brooklyn has the cap space to take on the extra salary.

Confirmed. We like the pairing of Rose and WB surrounded by shooters, and pick and roll partners. Our backcourt is lethal.

Milwaukee and Atlanta have a two part trade to announce.

Part one:
Tribe out:
Mike Dunleavy - $3,750,000
Rites to Will Barton
$3 million cash
Total = $3,750,000

Hawks out:
Partial TPE ($3,750,000)
Total = $3,750,000

2nd trade to be posted after this one is approved.

Milwaukee needs cap space. Hurts losing youth and a rotational guy, but it was necessary.

We accept this single isolated deal, using 3.75 of our 7.7million TPE. We are left with a 3.95m TPE which may come in handy very very very very shortly in an entirely unrelated deal.

Mostly, we do this so we can play poker with a guy named Willie Barton.

Anthony Morrow - $4,000,000
Rites to Dion Waiters
$3 million cash
Total = $4,000,000

Hawks out:
Remaining TPE($4,000,000)

More cap space. It's been real, Dion. :(

Atlanta does this with the 3,950,000 remaining on our TPE. We feel like we got the most out of our TPE, and a movement is under way to retire the number 77 in its honor.

We like that Dion Waters will replace what Brooks did for us, and the 3m in cash can be used playing poer with WIllie Barton.

Celtics out:
Roy Hibbert: $8,750,000 ($13,750,000)
Isaiah Thomas: $762,195 (ung)
Total: $9,512,195

Utah out:
Al Horford: $7,000,000
Rights to Thomas Robinson
2013 Utah 1st (Celtics get pick if 12 or lower)
Total: $7,000,000

Salaries work. We didn't want to give up Hibbert but this deal was too good to pass up. We lose the size at C but Al Horford can still block shots and plays great defense for a C. We also get a top 5 pick in Thomas Robinson to play PF. Great dealing.

I have about 4.9M in cap to make it work.

UTA accepts. Hibbert is a monster, and at 7'2 there is really no one like him. He was 13/9/2/2 in the regular season, and is 11/11/2/3.8 in 29 MPG in the playoffs. He is a great defensive anchor plus has a legit post game which I love. Thomas adds a PG that I need, and his quickness should help on the break and in the half court. Plus I save a tiny bit of money.

TRADE #88

Phoenix & Houston announce deal

Houston sends Tyreke Evens (5,251,825) and Patrick Patterson (2,096,760) = 7,348 585; to
Phoenix for Kendall Marshall (1,731,960), Arnett Moultrie (1,418,160) and Phx 2013 1st (unprotected) ($3.15M). Since Phoenix is at $ 34M they can absorb the additional salary.

The Rockets like the bringing the most efficient distributor the NCAA has produced with the potential to make every one else realize their full potential. Moultrie brings the tools to fill all 3 front line positions and will be a valuable member of the Rockets rotation for years to come. While Tyreke has great skills, the Rockets were concerned about his attitude blending with what Houston is trying to develop. Great dealing with you Jace. Glad we could make this work.

An overpay from a young talent perspective, but one we were thrilled to make. A Dragic/Evans back court is a dream come true!

PHX accepts.

Milwaukee and Houston have a trade to announce.

Tribe out:
Darren Collison - ($2,319,344)
PHI 2013 1st
Total = $2,319,344

Rockets out:
Brandon Jennings - ($3,179,493)
Total = $3,179,493

The Tribe do this deal to upgrade our PG position and our playmaking ability. Brandon is a good scorer and a tenacious defender. We feel like he can really flourish in a D'Antoni offense and can choose his spots a bit easier now with the likes of Durant/Henderson/Landry to dish the rock to. We are saddened to see that pick go, but the time to win is now; not later. Good dealing as always, Scott!

To Portland:
Roy Hibbert ($8,750,000)
Eric Gordon ($13,750,000)
Gordon Hayward ($2,709,720)

Total: 25,209,720 * 1.25 + 100,000 = 31,612,150

To Utah:
Derrick Rose ($15,506,632)
Darko Milicic ($5,670,000)
Amir Johnson ($6,050,000)

Total: 27,226,632

Deal works.

UTA accepts. REALLY hard to lose all of my core, but Rose is a top 5 player, and they just don't grow on trees. Amir is 7/6 in 24 MPG, a great role player, and Darko is a large man who is on a 1 year deal.

Confirmed. We opted to go with Westbrook who we feel is underrated at the point and build around him. Gordon during the last part of the season proved he is still the same 20+ ppg, 4-5 apg guy on good efficiency (on a good team). Hibbert is a 7'2 allstar C who can anchor our D, and gives us two low post scoring options. Hayward is a great 6th man, who can play SG and SF.
