The Portland Trail Blazer have move PF Tyrus Thomas to Houston for PF/C Anthony Tolliver & LAC 2012 1st Round Pick (Protected).

The Blazer felt they needed additional talent in the post as Amir Johnson & Gerald Wallace will be able to share the duties at the 4 (with Trey Thompkins available). Tyrus is a solid talent but the Blazers previously signed Anthony to 2 10 day contracts & know if is a good fit in the with their roster. Finally, the cap savings (which is doubled under the Lux Tax) made this a good move for Portland.

Houston accept.
Tolliver was a pickup to help Dallas save tax dollars. So in effect we only needed to cough up a potentially 15-20 pick to get Tyrus. He'll be the defensive complement to Cousins offence. BBIQ goes out the window though, we're pleased to run with a frontcourt akin to dumb and dumber.

the Orlando Magic, Sacramento Kings and Golden State Warriors have a BLOCKBUSTER deal to announce:

Orlando Magic

trades:
Dwight Howard - 18 091 770
Brandon Bass - 4 000 000
Turkoglu - 11 015 850
Arenas - 19 269 307
Redick - 6 750 000

total = 59 126 927

receives:
John Wall - 5 530 080
Al Horford - 12 000 000
Andres Nocioni - 6 650 000
Kyle Korver - 5 000 000
Boris Diaw - 9 000 000
Foye - 4 250 000
Green - 10 000 000
2012 1st SAC(unprotected)

total = 52 430 080

Sacramento Kings

trades:
John Wall - 5 530 080
Kevin Love - 4 609 701
Andres Nocioni - 6 650 000
Kyle Korver - 5 000 000
Boris Diaw - 9 000 000
Randy Foye - 4 250 000
Jeff Green - 10 000 000

total = (45 039 781*1.25)+100 000 = 56 399 726.25

receives:
Dwight Howard - 18 091 770
Brandon Bass - 4 000 000
Hedo Turkoglu - 11 015 850
Gilbert Arenas - 19 269 307

total = 52 376 927

Golden State Warriors

trade:
Al Horford - 12 000 000
2012 1st SAC(unprotected)

total = 12 000 000

receives:
Kevin Love - 4 609 701
JJ Redick - 6 750 000

total = 11 359 701

Explanation from GSW: We hate trading Al Horford away, but we like the acquisition of Kevin Love and JJ Redick. since SAC is receiving Dwight Howard and has Derrick Rose, that SAC 1st has no chance of being in the lottery, and is probably a 20th to 30th pick. Is JJ Redick worth a 20th to 30th pick? Definitely. Plus, we think Love is a better overall player than Horford. Although Horford is a better defensive talent, Love's mean rebounding streak and offensive capabilities are too much to pass on.

Orlando accept. We recieved a bucketload of offers for Dwight and this was our favourite. We shed all our long term contracts and recieve a franchise talent in Wall, a very good defensive bigman with big potential in Horford and Green who we hope thrives at SF with playing time.

New Orleans accepts. We get immediate center help with Marcus and good perimeter shooting with Turkoglu and Korver. Love it.

OK accepts. We feel Roy has enough left to be a perfect complement to Durant and Rubio.

roy's contract and injury concern was too much for us to handle.

PORTLAND AND CHARLOTTE COMPLETE DEAL

The Portland Trail Blazers have moved Joel Pryzbilla to the Charlotte Bobcats in exchange for Charlotte's $2.3M TPE acquired in an earlier transaction with Blazers. Portland Valued Joel's history with the club, but felt the logjam merited this move which filled a need for the Bobcats and netted the Blazers a future $2M TPE

Bobcats accept.
We needed a true center and we got one really cheap here. Good dealing.

All trades (unless denied for another reason other than needing to wait a time period) except the Pryzbilla deal are approved. From now on, I will approve each one individually.

Portland and New York have a trade to announce:

TO POR:
David Lee ($11,610,000)
Dorell Wright ($3,823,000)

Total: 15,433,000

TO NYK:
Gerald Wallace ($10,500,000)
Mike Dunleavy Jr. ($5,500,000)

Total: 16,000,000

Close enough, deal works.

NYK accepts. We went after Granger, then Deng, and then we landed on Wallace. He brings great hustle, defense and rebounding to my team. We will play him as a stretch 4 so that we can continue to run the ball. Dunleavy can at least hit the 3 and is on a declining contract.

Portland confirms the deal - while losing Gerald Wallace hurts on both ends of the floor - the balance the acquisition of David Lee and Dorrel Wright bring will offset that loss. Both players are entering their prime which is what Nate was seeking and Lee can go at either the PF or Center spots to add versatility to our lineup.

The Detroit Pistons and Utah Jazz have completed a trade.

Detroit outgoing:

Tyler Hansbrough: 2,138,040
Jon Brockman: 1,000,000
Scotty Hopson: 854,389
Andrew Goudelock: 854,389
Total salaries: 4,846,818*125%=6,058,522

Detroit incoming:

Kenyon Martin: 5,800,000
2012 2nd rd pick

Utah outgoing:

Kenyon Martin: 5,800,000
2012 2nd rd pick

Utah incoming:

Tyler Hansbrough: 2,138,040
Jon Brockman: 1,000,000
Scotty Hopson: 854,389
Andrew Goudelock: 854,389
Total salaries: 4,846,818*125%=6,058,522

Pistons accept. We hate to see such a hardworking man in Tyler Hansbrough leave Detroit, but we needed more of a veteran presence at the backup power forward spot and we found that in "The Original K-Mart", in Kenyon, we have a guy who brings fire and passion each and every night and not only is he tough, but he's mean and nasty and that's the difference between him and young Tyler. Kenyon's character will resonate perfectly with Detroit. We also like the pick coming to us in next years draft.

Memphis and Dallas have a trade.

Dallas in / Memphis out:
Xavier Henry - $2,171,640

Memphis in / Dallas out:
Gary Neal - $788,872
Greivis Vasquez - $1,113,600
Total salaries - $1,902,472

1,902,472 * 1.25 + 100K = 2,478,090 > 2,171,640; deal works

Memphis accepts. We overpay, giving up a lottery pick to get back the 3-point shooting off the bench we desperately needed.
