We've long been a fan of Kirk Hinrich's game, and we believe he will be an excellent fit next to Thabo Sefolosha and Danny Granger on the wing. We moved a little bit of cap flexibility and a young guy we liked, but didn't love to get an upgrade at point.

We did not plan to trade Rubio in this game. However, we also did not expect to acquire Wade. Rubio and Wade don't fit the greatest, so we needed to trade Rubio for someone who did. George Hill will provide solid defense and a reliable 3-point stroke that allows him to play off of Wade. While we may have lost some potential at the point, we gain an upgrade at PF. Psycho T will bring Target Center some of what was lost with the trade of Kevin Love.

Overall we are sacrificing some potential to hopefully build a contending team around Dwyane Wade

Gilbert won't pay much) and we don't need cap space, so as long as we are below the luxury tax line(which we are), we're fine taking on Roy's contract. Plus, by the time Roy's contract expires, Irving - Valanciunas - Thompson will be due for an extension so its a perfect situation. (we have a huge expiring contract when we won't have any cap space).. Nice dealing..

We thank CP3 for everything he has done for us--organization and city alike and we wish him well for the rest of his career and though we weren't able to fully help him achieve his goal of being an NBA champion in New Orleans, we do wish, from the bottom of out hearts that he can someday be known as an NBA champion and we look forward to the day that #3 is hanging high up in our rafters.

The Nuggets are far enough under the cap to swallow the difference. This creates a TPE worth $14,446,400.

Like the Mo Williams deal, this more about ideal fits moreso than anything. We get a replacement center for a fourth of the price. And when you compare their per 36 minutes numbers, there really isn't a huge difference (Kaman - 17/10/2 vs. Mozgov - 11/8/1). I get a slightly worse rebounder, but who had a higher true shooting percentage and eFG%. You could make a legitimate argument I got an improvement. We also manage to acquire Jordan Hamilton in this deal as well. We believe he'll help us with three point shooting, and we believe he could turn into someone like Stephen Jackson without the baggage. But the real kicker is the savings the Clippers receive. The Clippers will NEVER have a 100 million payroll with Donald Sterling around.


P.S. If for some reason rocdogg won't allow Hamilton be dealt as rights, this deal works financially with him included with his contract. Only the TPE would be $13,524,000. Should work the other way though since Hamilton hasn't been dealt yet.

Losing Speights does not hurt, because he couldn't crack the rotation here. The picks will probably be in the 20 area, because we are a playoff team. Losing Thad hurts, but we felt like it is better to build around a real PF and not a tweener.
