I think if players accept unrealistic offers and QO's we're going to have some unrealistic rosters at the end.

Portland Matches the Maurice Harkless offer. (I should be able to based on the timing) - That should be a nice trade chip come next year (only 4 million guaranteed)

Portland also signs 2nd Round Pick: Jake Layman

That should complete Portland's roster moves unless someone proposes a trade.

The LA Clippers would sign
PG Jarrett Jack to a one-year minimum
C Roy Hibbert to a 1y/$2M contract (more $$ than the Hornets offer  )

Honestly, this was thrown together on 1 days notice and had a lot of things I didn't realize need to find a solution for (ie: free agents that will actually sign somewhere not getting offers, etc) and overlapped with actual free agency (and lost a lot of steam when it actually started in real life), but altogether this went really awesome. You guys kept it realistic and took it seriously. That's not to say, there isn't a ton of things for me to work out on my end, but this was version 1.0, the 2017 version should run much smoother as a result.

Some things I'm considering for next year's 2017 version:

1. Starting the recruiting process for GM's after the 2017 trade deadline to give us plenty of time to find some one, GM's to back out and us to find replacements, etc. I just feel like this will give a 100% committed GM for each team that is fully aware of the process. I will give every one that participated this year first choice if they want to return or not because every one did awesome here.

2. I will start the mock off-season immediately after the draft lottery (to prevent an overlap with the real life off-season) and include the draft next year. Basically each pick is on the clock until the GM of that team submits his pick in the thread. While each GM is on the clock, teams can make trades, etc. all the way until the 60th pick is made.

3. Since the set up will be earlier and more organized, I will give 10 days of free agency to ensure all free agents are signed that would actually get offers.

4. I'm working with the people at Wolverine Studios (http://www.wolverinestudios.com/) to make a software compatible with this whole project and they seem willing to help in the very preliminary stages of exploring what they could do. Basically, I would enter the draft picks, trades, signings, waived cap holds, etc. of each day and the software would generate the resulting roster and cap space automatically for me to keep this more realistic and organized.

I think these tihngs will make 2017 Version 2.0 much better, but considering how late in the game this year's was thrown together and how unorganized and unprepared I was on my end, this went very, very well so I'm really excited about doing this next year with more preparation and organization from my end contributing to this.
Disclaimer: Trades I post shouldn't make you stressed or angry if you disagree. If you say it's unproductive because it won't happen and we're only allowed to post deals that actually happen, it takes away 99% of trades here and the fun out of the board.

It was done really well considering from recruiting to final rosters it took around a week. Im also surprised team rosters are all realistic and they werent turned over 3 times.

So just to be clear, Harkless is a Bull or a Blazer?

I agree, taking this and adding more preparation time and organization software, it should be a really good project next summer.

Agree that this went well but I think the main improvement is the one you noted of having this complete before real free agency begins, which not only distracts people but tends to make us more inclined to mirror what happened in real life.

Cavs roster

T. Thompson / K. Koufos / D. Stone
K. Love / C. Frye / C. Wood
L. James / R. Jefferson / C. Osman
I. Shumpert / J. Smith / D. Jones
K. Irving / M. Dellavedova. / M. Williams

I expected to do more, move Frye and/or Shumpert, but I like my Hinkie third unit...

Agree this went really well and next time I'd hope to get a team that can be more active than bargain shopping the best undrafted guys, or at least the best younger undrafted guys in this case.
