PG - Steve Blake - $4,000,000

Why for New Orleans? Well the deal isn't major, and I take on extra salary, but I get an upgraded (albeit overpaid) backup PF in Gooden, a better 3-point shooting PG in Steve Blake to backup Parker, and a decent prospect in Vasquez. Hopefully it works out - at the very least, I now feel comfortable my bench is one of the strongest in the league.

^ and that is why melo would have never really ever signed with Miami, the GM obviously has absolutely no loyalty to his star players after dealing away Bosh and Wade.

The Clippers and Spurs have agreed to a deal

Clipps send
Eric Bledsoe $ 1,596,360
Hassen Whiteside $788,872
totals: $2,385,232

Spurs send
Domineque Jones $1,110,120
Quincey Pondexter $1,073,280
totals: 2,183,400

Clipps agree to balance out the roster more. With Collison running the show, there really was no need to keep Bledsoe around. Whiteside is also in a log jam and may not have gotten the minutes he needs to try and develop. I add 2 guys that I was really high on in the 2010 draft. Dom Jones is a solid defensive minded combo guard that can light it up, and Q gives me the young SF of the future I was looking to add!

The Detroit Pistons and Milwaukee Bucks have agreed upon a trade.

The Pistons send Raymond Felton ($7,560,000), Mason Plumlee ($1,500,000), and Mickael Pietrus ($5,300,000) in exchange for Chauncey Billups ($14,200,000) and Dante Cunningham ($1,000,000).

Pistons Outgoing/Bucks Incoming: $14,360,000
Bucks Outgoing/Pistons Incoming: $15,200,000

Deal Works!

We give up some youth, and significant pieces to our team/core whom we didn't want to lose, but love the veteran fit of Billups next to our youngish core, and believe he fits nicely with our roster with what we're trying to accomplish.

New York and Sacrametno have come to terms with a trade

New York Sends

Rasual Butler $2,550,000
Chris Wilcox $3,250,000

Sacramento Sends

Al Harrington $6,226,000

The salaries are almost the same,$5.8M and $6.2M

Ney York does this as we do not have a quality starting Power Foward at the moment, but Harrington gives us that, a guy who can go 16/17 and 7, hit threes and spread the floor.
Perfect fit for NY.

The Golden State Warriors have begun their efforts to trim the roster. They have decided to release backup point guard Jerome Randle. We like the kid but we already have a young backup in Patrick Mills Jr and we feel he has more upside. We were going to release Larry Hughes but at this point I think we're going to keep the veteran on the team for a bit.

Confirmed. We needed a backup SG and another big man, and Harrington was redundant with Ilyasova and Frye anyway.

Bucks accept. We aren't happy with the way our team is built, so we are going to try to get younger. This is is the first step of that process.

Bucks waive Michael Finley prior to the deal's completion.

The Toronto Raptors and Denver Nuggets have come to an agreement:

Jeff Green $9,300,000
for
Andrea Bargnani $9,250,000

Raptors accept. Bargnani just better suits my team in general. The guy's a center and with Horford at PF Bargnani's got all the defensive support he needs to showcase his talents as a dynamic offensive player and a decent man defender. This is just a much better fit for my team. I also really like Perry Jones's size/skill at SF.

Nuggets accept. We've always been high on Green so this is a no brainer. We'll miss Bargs ability to spread the floor, but with Smith/Dudley/Green all capable of shooting a high percentage he was no longer needed.

The Los Angeles Lakers and Clevelamd Cavaliers have agreed to a deal:

Lakers outgoing:
Ben Gordon $11,600,000
Rasheed Wallace $6,790,640
2012 Sacramento first round draft pick
Total = under 20 million

for

Cavaliers outgoing:
Shannon Brown $2,374,866

Deal works due to Cleveland being over 20 million in cap space. (about 37 million total)

Why? We've been looking for a deal like this were we would save a boat load of cash. Shannon Brown is one of my favorite players in the league, and with him on board, there would be no minutes for Ben Gordon anyways. Ben Gordon was also about 5 years to old for my core. Sheed expires and we had no use for him either. THis deal saves us about 16 million this year, and even more going forward, which is what we've wantedto do all game. Losing the first hurts since were "rebuilding" but its worth it in the end. Good dealing cleveland.

Cleveland accepts. In the end it is just too much value to pass up. Hopefully the pick ends up being pretty high, but even if it doesn't I like the combination of Ben Gordon and Terrence Williams on the wings. Shooters usually last a long time in this league and I am sure that Ben will be a valuable part of my team moving forward.

After the trade Cleveland releases Rasheed Wallace. We don't think that he is the type of player to be leading a young team.

The Boston Celtics and Denver Nuggets have agreed to the following:

Boston will send:

Kendrick Perkins [13,000,000]
Jason Kapono [ 1,500,000]
Shelden Williams [ 854,389]

Total: 15,354,389

Denver will send:

Samuel Dalembert [9,000,000]
Thaddeus Young [ 9,000,000]
Jeremy Lin [ 788,872]
Total: 18,788,872

15,354,389 x 1.25 = 19192986.3 Deal Works

We've been after Perkins for a while now and we finally get him. With Green in tow, we couldn't justify keeping Thaddeus on the bench so we moved him to a team that could utilize his services.

The Raptors and Pacers have come to an agreement:

Toney Douglas $1,145,640
for
TE (created from cap space)

and

2013 TOR 1st (unprotected)
2012 ORL 2nd
for
rights to Brandon Knight

Raptors accept. Losing the picks and Douglas kinda sucks but I'm pretty high on Brandon Knight's potential.
