Firstly - and this is more centred around unrestricted free agents - there's absolutely loads of offers coming in. I recall one FA period I ran saw me receive 250+ emails in the space of 48 hours. Roc may only have 1/3 of that given his client list, but it's still something you have to take effort to sort. You can't always respond to everyone's request, sometimes things will be forgotten.
Personally my view on it is that an agent will try to work for his players, 'sell' them to teams, but not to the point of actively waiting for offers to come in and then telling someone what they have to beat. An agent is going to want to see some sort of offer put on the table, and by the close of the window (i.e. the deadline in which the player wants to have decided his future) - the player would accept the offer that is best for him; whether that is in terms of fit, location, money, whatever.
Secondly, GMAT FA runs more like an ebay auction than real life. Whilst I expect some bidding and counterbidding goes on in real life, here we treat players as assets (more than Daryl Morey) and offers bounce backwards and forwards are always about money, or someone bid this, someone bid that... When the majority of spenders have used all their cap, it's more likely a player is going to accept an offer that is on the table, rather than wait. This is tier 3, after all.
Thirdly, I don't think the attitude helps things. Fine, I get you're frustrated, but it's just a game.
+1
This is a thankless job, even if there are kinks, regardless of who the onus is on I don't think we should call each other out on the boards. I'm grateful to both of you (rOc/Spree) and everyone else helping to run FA, but keep ya, keep it civil.
