Cavs win in a not that stressful 7 games. I don't really love Indy's individual pieces or talent personally but man alive do they fit together well and make sense as a cohesive team. That said Cleveland is a substantial upgrade on the team that just won the title irl, so... sorry pmott.

Indiana in 6.

The Pacers match up stronger than the Cavs here. Paul s better than Irving and will neutralise him. James is the dominant player, but Iggy is a great matchup as we all know. Green is a quality defender that will keep Reddik in check. Love will get murdered by Millsap and DeAndre Jordan will have a field day inside against Ian Mahimni. This Cleveland team is weaker that the current championship one as their depth is very questionable.

Wow....

So you really think that this current squad:

Irving/MoWill
(JR (FA))/Dunleavy
James/Shumpert/Jefferson
Love/Frye
Thompson

Is better than:

Irving/Beverley/Gibinije
JJ Redick/Dunleavy
James/Casspi
Love/Teletovic
Mahinmi/Koufos/Hill

??

And Beverley/Dunleavy/Casspi/Koufos/Hill off the bench = deep team

Where is the green font???

Welp. Looks like I'm late to the party. Here is my write-up.

Chris Paul and Danny Green are going to neutralize any kind of production that Cleveland hopes to get out of their back court. Paul/Green are just superior defenders that will cause fits for Kyrie and Redick which in turn will put more of the scoring load on LeBron's shoulders (which is exactly what we want). Iggy has already proven he can D up on LeBron and when he needs his rest we also have Sefolosha and Millsap to throw at LeBron.

Millsap will absolutely take Kevin Love to the woodshed. Love is just such a flawed player in Cleveland's system and once again will fail to show up for the big moments in the playoffs.

LeBron is litterally going to have to turn back the clock to his 2008-09 days with his super human stamina for the Cavs to have a chance here.

As far as Cleveland's depth goes, you only really have a consistent 8-9 man rotation in the playoffs. So we don't see that as an advantage for them.

Bench:

Livingston > Beverley
Sefolosha > Dunleavy
Gibson > Koufos or Hill

Even our bench has the defense to limit the Cavs bench points production.

The loss of Tristan Thompson is massive in there. Mahimni is good, but he;s no TT. Koufos is just OK. Teletovic doesn't do much more, maybe an upgrade a little on Frye, but his minutes will be limited because of Love. JR Smith is also a big it loss particularly on the defensive end, as JJ Reddick is small and a very below average defender. Beverley is overrated, and would be likely having to guard, and be guarded by Livingston. Millsap is so much better than Love in this matchup it sways it big time for me. Add in DeAndre Jordan rebounding and chasing lobs of CP3, and I just like this matchup for Indiana. Iguadala will limit LBJ with Millsap, Gibson and Jordan in help defense.

Nothing against this Cavs team, it's super good, but I think the Pacers match up perfectly to take them down.

Mahinmi and Koufos as a duo is subtantially better than TT with no backup... you're either drastically overrating TT or underrating both of the other guys dude. (Koufos is actually a very good backup C.)

IND is balanced and I think they win due to post-presence...in 7.
